 Salford lads club is a iconic
  landmark .
 Sepia tone at the beginning
  represents the boy in the past
  which also enhances the old gym
  feel.
The pictures in the background when
 the boys are training on the boxing pads
      change throughout each boy.
The pictures change from old pictures to
            new updated ones
Dance songs are usually about the image of
 the artist, representing and enhancing this
  image that the producers want to create.
We decided to go against this convention;
we went for more of a narrative theme for our
               music video.
It slowly brings in the characters; if it started
  fast then it wouldn’t be conventional. It also
     follows the typical boxing experience of
                   warming up.

      music is usually a mix between
         performance and narrative.

Media technology for our music video was
                   essential
 The editing programme we used for our
   music video, it helped us to change the
transitions between shots but also allows us
             to add special effect.
           Dissolve and ghosting
I got to understand how to use a video
    camera, and understand different
  theorists like David Baugh on how to
 construct a professional shot and what
not to do for example the use of the sun
              and positioning.
   The use of the internet came in as
    useful along all stages

    Helped us to get inspirational ideas like

  1. The Setting of our music video was in a typical working class gym, Salford lads club is a iconic landmark so was useful to film here. The sepia tone at the beginning represents the boy in the past which also enhances the old gym feel. This is a picture which people will instantly think of when they think an old working class gym; this is the effect we tried to gain by using the sepia tone. The pictures in the background of out video also are in this sepia tone. The use of sepia adds a certain effect to an image; it instantly makes it looks old and makes it like mysterious

When planning our music video we needed to specifically include something so that the audience understands about the time change which also allows to fill in the gaps created by the elliptical narrative. The pictures in the background when the boys are training on the boxing pads change throughout each boy. This signifies this change in period when the boys are growing up, the pictures change from old pictures to new updated ones, however they are all to do with the theme of boxing which fits in the with surrounding environment.  
  3. We decided to go against this convention; we went for more of a narrative theme for our music video. Because our target audience like to look up at these celebrities/artists, image is usually important however breaking this convention meant we could draw the artists out from the crowd and making him more recognisable through the usage of unconventional narrative.

The theme of boxing had to follow through ,this is to ensure there is an ‘image’ being formed for the artist but also for the audience to recognize that this song ‘ambition’ relates to all three different products, ( they could walk into a shop and recognise the CD cover straight away)
  8. As our genre is about the ‘image’ of the artist, I thought it was necessary to include an image of them on our actual magazine advert because in the video it isn’t highlighted. This is the image on the magazine, he is using the boxing gloves as used in the video by all the characters which shows constituency. Media technology for our music video was essential, throughout every stage we got to develop on our skills that we have gathered, from learning how to develop on Photoshop to learning about adobe premiere. This editing programme we used for our music video, it helped us to change the transitions between shots but also allows us to add special effect. Special effects like dissolve and ghosting, these worked really well for our video and allowed the video to work smoothly.
  14. I got to understand how to use a video camera, and understand different theorists like David Baugh on how to construct a professional shot and what not to do for example the use of the sun and positioning.
  15. The use of the internet came in as useful along all stages, from research and planning to posting our final pieces on the online blog. The internet helped us to get inspirational ideas like our initial theme similar to Rocky (Avilsden, 1976). It helped me to develop that idea by ensuring it can somehow fit into our video, genre and target audience.
  16. YouTube became very helpful when researching and planning our ideas, it helped to explore different types of music videos, ones related to our genre and ones that was not. YouTube is a very successful video sharing website, so it also allowed us to research into individual videos not just music. We looked at in inspirational videos such ad Rocky and individual boxing clips. This helped us to look at different shot angles and how they worked within a video. We was also able to put our final video on here, it also allows us to put it either on private or public, we chose public as the people in our films may not want everyone to see it.

Blogger is an online blog-publishing service that allows private or multi-user blog, blogger is what we used last year for our media foundation portfolio, and this means I am familiar with this programme. It allows you to keep track of work you have done along with the date and times you have done this; this is helpful as you can always refer back to research and provides the information in a logical way.
  18. Google is one of the most popular search engines on the internet; Google allows you to search for anything and comes up with a list of results. I used Google for most of my research; it provides information from a range of websites.
