day?
 On average about 2/3 of workers spend their day sitting
at their desks
 That’s an approximate 21 hours at your desk!
 On average women spend more time on their computers
or using their mobile devices then men do
 From a survey about 67% of female workers welcome
the changes to adapt a better work station to fit their
needs.

All that sitting effects your
health
 As soon as you sit down

 Electrical activity in the leg muscles shut down
 Calorie burning drops to one per minute
 Enzymes involved in fat breakdown drop to 90%.
Health and sitting continued
 After two hours of sitting your good cholesterol drops by
two hours!
 Over time: decreased physical activity, squeezes blood
vessels, insulin insensitivity, high amounts of stress, and
blood pools in the lower legs.

How to sit properly:
 Sitting at 135 degrees puts less strain on the lower back
then leaning forward and hunching over.
How to increase activity when at
work
 Walk around the building with a friend or by yourself

 Take the stairs instead of using the elevator
 Visit the company gym on your lunch hour if applicable
 Park further away in the parking lot
