president. Philanthropically active, Michael
Quiel contributes his time and resources to
such charities and nonprofits as the Make-A-Wish
Foundation.
Each year, Make-A-Wish strives to grant 10,000
travel-based wishes. In fact, nearly 75 percent
of all wishes made to the foundation involve
some sort of travel. In an effort to cover the 2.5
billion airline miles Make-A-Wish needs each
year, the organization operates its Wishes in
Flight program.

3.  Wishes in Flight is a national program that enables
individuals to donate their frequent flier miles to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. Currently the organization
accepts miles from individuals who fly on Delta,
United, and US Airways.
There is no limit on the number of miles an individual
can donate, but there is a 500-mile minimum for
United customers and a 1,000-mile minimum for those
who fly Delta and US Airways. Flyers of JetBlue may
also donate cash by turning their reward points into
dollars through the airline’s TrueBlue Rewards
