It outlines online catalogs and databases that allow students to search the library's own collections as well as those of other University System of Georgia libraries. It also discusses interlibrary loans and electronic resources for subjects like nursing. Contact information is provided for library staff assistance.

2. Looking for a book?
There are a variety of sources for finding books,
both online and on the shelf at the library.
3. Access these sources from the library’s Information and
Resources page at www.ccga.edu/library.
4. GIL-Find and GIL-Find Universal
The GIL in GIL-Find stands for GALILEO Interconnected Libraries.
GIL-Find (also called GIL Search) is CCGA's online catalog. The books
you find here are available at the Brunswick or Kingsland campus
libraries.
GIL-Find Universal (also known as GIL-Express Search) lets you search
all of the institutions within the University System of Georgia. You may
request books from other USG libraries, and pick them up at your local
campus library. GIL-Find and GIL-Find Universal are two separate
searches. If you don't find what you need at CCGA, try GIL-Find
Universal.
5. eBooks
eBooks are available through the EBSCO Host Database, which you
must access through GALILEO. You must create a personal user name
and password at an IP-validated computer in the library in order to
download eBooks. Once the account is created, eBooks can be
accessed from any computer. See Librarian John Kissinger's helpful
Research Guide on eBooks at CCGA.
6. JSTOR
JSTOR is an digital library of academic journals, primary sources and
books. You can access it the database through GALILEO.
7. ILLiad Interlibrary Loans
ILLiad is the electronic system used to request items from other
libraries outside of the University System of Georgia. The first time you
use ILLiad, you must set up an account. You will need to provide basic
information such as your name and address. The library staff is
available to assist you with registration, making a request or following
up on a request.
8. Georgia Public Libraries (PINES)
If you can't find what you need through the college, try your public
library. Most Georgia public libraries' catalogs are accessible through
PINES, which stands for Public Information Network for Electronic
Services. Once you have a PINES library card, you can check out
materials at one PINES library, and return them at another. However,
the borrowing period is shorter than the college's, so be sure to find
out when your materials are due.
9. Nursing Books
There are two sources for electronic books on Nursing –
Ovid and R2 Digital Library. Both can be accessed through GALILEO.
Check with a librarian if you need assistance.
10. Other Library Materials
The following library materials may only be checked out
for use inside the library:
DVDs
Journals
Magazines
Reference Books
Microfilm and Microfiche
Faculty Reserve Materials
