listening involves three aspects
1. Ethos
2. Logos
3. Pathos

9. Ethos
 speaker is credible if s/he is an expert
in his/her topic and is trustworthy.

10. Logos
 Speaker may commit errors in logic because
of carelessness or inattention to details or lack
of analysis.

11. Pathos
 Strategy of the speaker to use psychological
appeals to gain emotional response.

 Facts can be verified in contrast to
 Opinion which cannot be proven
