What I am about to share with you is based on what the most savvy and productive
media publishers (the new name for Internet Marketers) are doing to ensure consistent
income through their online efforts.
I recently attended an upscale Marketing Conference that was priced and positioned to
attract only the truly productive in the industry. It was a regular occurrence to have
some prominent publisher walk up and spout out stats of conversions on offers and
business services they were sending out while the conference was going on. The
theme of all of these conversations was having a business model that produces a
consistent stream of leads and customers.
The takeaways were so powerful that I immediately put lots of tweaks and updates in
place to stop relying on outdated practices. I am sharing these tips with you as part of
my tribe of customers and audience. Please put these into practice for yourself and
start to build a business that is strong.

Have a great Lead Magnet
a. This is a door into your sales funnel and a way to build a list of prospects or
leads. Make this door so addictive that they cannot leave
b. Offer useful training, insights, tools or resources that are just enough to get
them engaged
c. It can be a squeeze page, free report/video/training/quiz/survey/blog posts/cool
tools or resources lists/secret FB Group, etc.
d. Be engaging and build trust. Take your time doing this to create the know-liketrust bond
***People buy from those they spend the most time with, so make your lead
magnets so good that your leads come back often to consume
Use an Irresistible Offer
a. This is a low barrier or low cost to entry type of product that is priced to make it
a no-brainer. Price to sell and move the person from lead to customer. Make
the offer so irresistible that it appeals to impulse buyers as well as those
searching for a solution
b. Target the most desperate problem to solve or the most popular information to
know (appeal to their coolness factor) example: ‘How to Make Reddit Your
B***h’
c. Can be a one problem-one solution product or software, a support
group/mastermind or a coveted insider’s knowledge resource and contacts list
(rolodex); to name a few
d. Use this to build your buyers list and move them from the leads lists
Have a Main or Flagship Product that is what you or your company is known
for or wants to be known for
a. This is the core of your expertise. It will be priced to attract the truly committed.
This is where loyal customers will accumulate
b. Can be a software service, coaching, detailed training/teaching, monthly
subscription, etc.
Set up Profit Maximizers to increase the experience of the customer and
the profitability of their purchase—win-win situations
a. This is the additional sale sequence where other related services and products
are offered; upsells, down sells, affiliate recommendations, etc.
b. Can be DFY (Done For Your Services), one on one coaching, automation
software or concierge services
c. Use your buyers list to promote these services
Have ways to reconnect with the ‘lost sheep’
a. This will be tactics like retargeting, shopping cart optimization, email series for
leads, down sells, limited time or last chance offers. Use your leads/prospects
lists to promote to
b. Send surveys and quizzes to find out their wants and needs. Then supply them

THIS IS WHERE TO START…ONE BITE OF ELEPHANT AT A TIME
Work on the first two steps from above to get yourself up and going.
I will give an overview of how to do this for products and book promotions. You
will also need to play around with this to find your sweet spot.
HAVE OR CREATE A BLOG!!! This will be your central hub of operation.
You will place free content here, photos, graphics, infographics, offers,
promotions, recommendations, interviews, videos, industry or niche insights,
inspirational materials, comic relief and any other materials that enforce the
KNOW-LIKE-TRUST relationship. You can use a WordPress install, Tumblr or
Blogger account to do this. Remember to build a relationship where they stay on
your site for as long as possible. Time Spent=Sales
Do not shy away from asking for the sale. Once you have a person who is
giving you their payment information, ask for the additional sale that gives the
best experience for them. Example: they purchased entry level software: offer
upgrades, personal setup or training to best use that software,

working for the most profitable media publishers. Use them as examples to get
you started and your creative juices flowing to get customers.

If you are a Book Author or Publisher:
Step 1: Lead Magnet: You Enticing Doorway
Create a Free Book, report, free chapters, contest giveaway, access to a FB or
Google+ group, etc. to get folks on your list. Send them lots of great content on
that list and to your blog.
 You can do a free book offer (paperback) where they pay for shipping and
handling. Then offer your training
 You can set up a Wiki or GitHub page that gives them access to
participate in insider information about your books, publishing how-to,
contests, etc. when they sign up for your list
 You can give them access to a special report, epilogue that was never
released for a fiction work, important checklists or quick starts for your
non-fiction books, etc.
Step 2: Irresistible Offer: Converting Leads into Customers
Create an ‘Insiders Only,’ ‘Friend of XXX,’ ‘Circle of Friends,’ etc. type of
discount or special offer on your book, book series or reader insights training.
Examples:
 You can do this by sending them to a special link for the discounted price
of the book
 You can offer a limited edition version of your book series at a better price
than if purchasing on regular sites
 You can offer a special live premium chat to discuss your writing process,
character development, upcoming books/titles, etc.
 You can offer a reader’s only private membership that gives discounts for
members only, offers games, judges fan fiction for prizes, has giveaways,
etc.
 Offer buyers’ only books that can only be purchased when other books
have been previously purchased
Shortcut: To find leads and buyers to promote these steps, use this

If you are an Online Media Publisher (Product Creator or Affiliate
Marketer):

Create a free book/report, simple automation software, list of awesome free
resources or top 5-7 resources, videos, contest giveaway, etc. to get folks on
your list. Send lots of great content to this list and to your blog.
*If using a Facebook Fan Page or Group to gather leads and buyers, make sure
to design the landing page to look somewhat like the FB page or group. This will
reduce ‘friction’ to following through on the call to action.
Step 2: Irresistible Offer: Converting Leads into Customers
Create an Introductory product, software, service, training, series, membership,
or loss leader that you are willing to take a loss on if needed, to turn leads into
customers. Price anywhere from $3-49 to get the sale.
Examples:
 Look for, create and promote periphery products (quick and easy fixes or
symptom relievers of a bigger issue) that folks need as a lead in or related
product to your core offer
 Sell the smaller component of a bigger offer. Example: sell a SEO friendly
theme or organic traffic getting training course at cost or low price if your
core offer is monthly SEO services
 Offer a physical product as an Amazon seller that meets a need and is
related to your core offer. Physical products convert extremely well. You
might also use t-shirt campaigns to do this as well
 Offer a product that does one IMPORTANT and NECESSARY task that a
bigger more expensive product does, but at a fraction of the cost
(example: sell a simple plugin or software for $20 that does the one most
important task that a software suite offers that costs big $$$)
 As your audience and reputation grows, offer customer highlights as a
premium service promotion to your blog
Sales conversion is based on great offers. No matter how much traffic you
send, if the offer is not great, it will not convert. So, make certain the offer is
irresistible.
The Objective of these two steps is to get a consistent pumping in of leads and
customers. Once you have these working smoothly, go on to steps 3-5 to
develop your complete business sales funnel.

This is the dashboard of Social Lead Freak, one of the most talked about
business investment tools that many of the biggest media publishers are using
(and talked about using at this top notch conference) for running highly
profitable FB ads. It is more expensive than your average BSO (bright shiny
objects). This is because it is constantly being updated to stay compliant with
FB ad terms and conditions. Plus, the developer listens to the users to create
updates that we will use.
As of this writing, the software is still at a one-time fee (check HERE to get
ACCESS). I am not sure if this will be forever. But, this is a great investment
into your paid ads platform. And, you will not have to purchase more software to

do the same thing in the next 3-6 months when the one-time wonder BSO has
gone the way of the Dodo bird.

If you are doing any of the above, then sadly you are collecting BSOs and not
making savvy business investments.

Using Social Lead Freak to Gather Customers
Here is a simple to follow use for Social Leads Freak to get you started
promoting your offers and building your lists.
Use the People Tab

 For book sales: look for your ‘friends’ who are authors or like books. For
Media publishers: look for your ‘fiends’ who actively participate in FB
groups, pages and posting.
 Use SLF to find groups, pages and posts they participate on and then
cultivate the User IDs (other FB users) who are also active. This is a tip
used by two of the biggest FB trainers around. They mirror the profile use
of active users to target their scope of reach.
 Use these User IDs as custom audiences to send your lead magnets and
offers through simple FB ads
Use the Browser and other Tabs

 Use the Browser tab to find FB group id numbers. This will allow you to go
directly to specific groups (including closed and secret ones you belong
to) to gather custom audience ids.

 Use Events, Posts, Places and Activities the same to find even more
targeted audiences
Once you gather your Custom Audience (SLF has a quick tutorial on setting up
a FB ad using custom audiences) it’s time to get your lead magnets and offers
out there.

Quick Way to Promote Offers and Build Lists using FB Ads
1. Generate a custom audience using SLF
2. Create a lead magnet to build your list and lead to your offer
a. You can use Lead Pages as a quick and very effective way to build
your lead magnet and offer page
b. Click HERE to check out Lead Pages templates
3. Create or use one of YOUR FB fan page(s) to make a tab or post about
your lead magnet. Use this technique to reduce the cost of your ad cost.
a. Create a fan page that is related to your offer if you do not already
have one. Put in 4-5 posts to get it started
b. Use WooBox to put in a tab for your offer or lead magnet
c. Or use a dark post (one that is added using Power Editor and does
not show up on the page) to promote your offer
d. Preferably, use a tab with a lead magnet that then leads to an offer
4. Alternate way is to Create an ad to directly promote the lead magnet to
the custom audience
5. Open Power Editor in Google Chrome to upload the custom audience
6. Create a FB ad to promote the tab or post on your fan page
a. Use the page post engagement or clicks to website options
b. add a ‘dark post’ to your FB Fan page if you choose to run directly to
the offer
7. Create a strong headline and call to action for the ad
8. Put in an engaging graphic or picture for the ad if using a dark post
9. Run the ad with FB optimized for clicks or CPM (test to see which
performs better) with a $5-$10/day budget to start
10.
Once offer and lead magnets start to convert, optimize and split test.
Increase ad spend when ads are performing well
Set up an email auto responder series of 3, 7, 14 or 30 days to send content
and/or training to your new leads list. Incorporate offer(s) if they do not convert
at first using the post to offer option. As your leads list start to grow, send new
offers to turn them into customers.

Final Note
Stick to one task at a time. Complete then start another. This is the formula that
has generated millions of dollars for high earners.
Just because everyone is selling t-shirts and you are writing books or building
your blog, does not mean you should necessarily stop and turn to promoting tshirts only (I say this from seeing so many people doing only this as a business
model). Remember: the key is to get as many Buy buttons up with as much
great content as possible—consistently.
If t-shirts are part of your funnel like a low-entry product to convert leads, then
go for it. But, if this is your only way to generate funds without building an email
list, then go back and set up a sales funnel to get customers. There are plenty
of sound t-shirt funnels that move folks from that into a sales funnel.
Once you have completed your tasks like a complete performing sales funnel
(see 5 steps above), then promote t-shirts or whatever you prefer to try next.
You will start to see traction and building of your business when you focus on
ONE task at a time.
When you learn to focus and complete tasks, a wonderful thing will happen. You
will begin to build skills for generating income. This skill will help you to build the
right processes to continue to generate income.
What to do next? Get Social Lead Freak and LeadPages. Create your Lead
Magnets and Introductory offers. Run FB ads. Build your lists and customer
base! Then, move on to steps 3-5 to complete your sales funnel for a
sustainable online business.

Simple truth: How to Gather Loyal Customers with FB Ads

  • 1. Simple Truth: He or She Who Has the Most Customers Wins! By: Michelle Spiva What I am about to share with you is based on what the most savvy and productive media publishers (the new name for Internet Marketers) are doing to ensure consistent income through their online efforts. I recently attended an upscale Marketing Conference that was priced and positioned to attract only the truly productive in the industry. It was a regular occurrence to have some prominent publisher walk up and spout out stats of conversions on offers and business services they were sending out while the conference was going on. The theme of all of these conversations was having a business model that produces a consistent stream of leads and customers. The takeaways were so powerful that I immediately put lots of tweaks and updates in place to stop relying on outdated practices. I am sharing these tips with you as part of my tribe of customers and audience. Please put these into practice for yourself and start to build a business that is strong. Here are some of the biggest takeaways: Gather lots of loyal customers Get buy buttons up, Get great free content out and be consistent with each N Train · Teach · Entertain Everyone and Then Sell to Customers N Build a Business that is sustainable without YOU! N Product Launches and book sales are a small portion of a true Media publishing enterprise and not the only way to receive income for your business
  • 2. BUT WHERE TO START… *Make a funnel that is engaging and attracts the RIGHT people 5 Steps to Gathering Lots of Customers… 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Have a great Lead Magnet a. This is a door into your sales funnel and a way to build a list of prospects or leads. Make this door so addictive that they cannot leave b. Offer useful training, insights, tools or resources that are just enough to get them engaged c. It can be a squeeze page, free report/video/training/quiz/survey/blog posts/cool tools or resources lists/secret FB Group, etc. d. Be engaging and build trust. Take your time doing this to create the know-liketrust bond ***People buy from those they spend the most time with, so make your lead magnets so good that your leads come back often to consume Use an Irresistible Offer a. This is a low barrier or low cost to entry type of product that is priced to make it a no-brainer. Price to sell and move the person from lead to customer. Make the offer so irresistible that it appeals to impulse buyers as well as those searching for a solution b. Target the most desperate problem to solve or the most popular information to know (appeal to their coolness factor) example: ‘How to Make Reddit Your B***h’ c. Can be a one problem-one solution product or software, a support group/mastermind or a coveted insider’s knowledge resource and contacts list (rolodex); to name a few d. Use this to build your buyers list and move them from the leads lists Have a Main or Flagship Product that is what you or your company is known for or wants to be known for a. This is the core of your expertise. It will be priced to attract the truly committed. This is where loyal customers will accumulate b. Can be a software service, coaching, detailed training/teaching, monthly subscription, etc. Set up Profit Maximizers to increase the experience of the customer and the profitability of their purchase—win-win situations a. This is the additional sale sequence where other related services and products are offered; upsells, down sells, affiliate recommendations, etc. b. Can be DFY (Done For Your Services), one on one coaching, automation software or concierge services c. Use your buyers list to promote these services Have ways to reconnect with the ‘lost sheep’ a. This will be tactics like retargeting, shopping cart optimization, email series for leads, down sells, limited time or last chance offers. Use your leads/prospects lists to promote to b. Send surveys and quizzes to find out their wants and needs. Then supply them

I will give an overview of how to do this for products and book promotions. You will also need to play around with this to find your sweet spot. HAVE OR CREATE A BLOG!!! This will be your central hub of operation. You will place free content here, photos, graphics, infographics, offers, promotions, recommendations, interviews, videos, industry or niche insights, inspirational materials, comic relief and any other materials that enforce the KNOW-LIKE-TRUST relationship. You can use a WordPress install, Tumblr or Blogger account to do this. Remember to build a relationship where they stay on your site for as long as possible. Time Spent=Sales Do not shy away from asking for the sale. Once you have a person who is giving you their payment information, ask for the additional sale that gives the best experience for them. Example: they purchased entry level software: offer upgrades, personal setup or training to best use that software, Note: These are not exhaustive approaches, but are some of the ones that are working for the most profitable media publishers. If you are a Book Author or Publisher: Step 1: Lead Magnet: You Enticing Doorway Create a Free Book, report, free chapters, contest giveaway, access to a FB or Google+ group, etc. to get folks on your list. Send them lots of great content on that list and to your blog.  You can do a free book offer (paperback) where they pay for shipping and handling. Then offer your training  You can set up a Wiki or GitHub page that gives them access to participate in insider information about your books, publishing how-to, contests, etc. when they sign up for your list  You can give them access to a special report, epilogue that was never released for a fiction work, important checklists or quick starts for your non-fiction books, etc. Step 2: Irresistible Offer: Converting Leads into Customers Create an ‘Insiders Only,’ ‘Friend of XXX,’ ‘Circle of Friends,’ etc. type of discount or special offer on your book, book series or reader insights training. Examples:  You can do this by sending them to a special link for the discounted price of the book  You can offer a limited edition version of your book series at a better price than if purchasing on regular sites  You can offer a special live premium chat to discuss your writing process, character development, upcoming books/titles, etc.  You can offer a reader’s only private membership that gives discounts for members only, offers games, judges fan fiction for prizes, has giveaways, etc.  Offer buyers’ only books that can only be purchased when other books have been previously purchased Shortcut: To find leads and buyers to promote these steps, use this SOFTWARE to find your targeted list of leads.   • 5. Create a free book/report, simple automation software, list of awesome free resources or top 5-7 resources, videos, contest giveaway, etc. to get folks on your list. Send lots of great content to this list and to your blog. *If using a Facebook Fan Page or Group to gather leads and buyers, make sure to design the landing page to look somewhat like the FB page or group. This will reduce ‘friction’ to following through on the call to action. Step 2: Irresistible Offer: Converting Leads into Customers Create an Introductory product, software, service, training, series, membership, or loss leader that you are willing to take a loss on if needed, to turn leads into customers. Price anywhere from $3-49 to get the sale. Examples:  Look for, create and promote periphery products (quick and easy fixes or symptom relievers of a bigger issue) that folks need as a lead in or related product to your core offer  Sell the smaller component of a bigger offer. Example: sell a SEO friendly theme or organic traffic getting training course at cost or low price if your core offer is monthly SEO services  Offer a physical product as an Amazon seller that meets a need and is related to your core offer. Physical products convert extremely well. You might also use t-shirt campaigns to do this as well  Offer a product that does one IMPORTANT and NECESSARY task that a bigger more expensive product does, but at a fraction of the cost (example: sell a simple plugin or software for $20 that does the one most important task that a software suite offers that costs big $$$)  As your audience and reputation grows, offer customer highlights as a premium service promotion to your blog Sales conversion is based on great offers. No matter how much traffic you send, if the offer is not great, it will not convert. So, make certain the offer is irresistible. The Objective of these two steps is to get a consistent pumping in of leads and customers. Once you have these working smoothly, go on to steps 3-5 to develop your complete business sales funnel. Using Social Lead Freak to Gather Customers Here is a simple to follow use for Social Leads Freak to get you started promoting your offers and building your lists. Use the People Tab  For book sales: look for your ‘friends’ who are authors or like books. For Media publishers: look for your ‘fiends’ who actively participate in FB groups, pages and posting.  Use SLF to find groups, pages and posts they participate on and then cultivate the User IDs (other FB users) who are also active. This is a tip used by two of the biggest FB trainers around. They mirror the profile use of active users to target their scope of reach.  Use these User IDs as custom audiences to send your lead magnets and offers through simple FB ads Use the Browser and other Tabs  Use the Browser tab to find FB group id numbers. This will allow you to go directly to specific groups (including closed and secret ones you belong to) to gather custom audience ids.   • 9.  Use Events, Posts, Places and Activities the same to find even more targeted audiences Once you gather your Custom Audience (SLF has a quick tutorial on setting up a FB ad using custom audiences) it’s time to get your lead magnets and offers out there. Quick Way to Promote Offers and Build Lists using FB Ads 1. Generate a custom audience using SLF 2. Create a lead magnet to build your list and lead to your offer a. You can use Lead Pages as a quick and very effective way to build your lead magnet and offer page b. Click HERE to check out Lead Pages templates 3. Create or use one of YOUR FB fan page(s) to make a tab or post about your lead magnet. Use this technique to reduce the cost of your ad cost. a. Create a fan page that is related to your offer if you do not already have one. Put in 4-5 posts to get it started b. Use WooBox to put in a tab for your offer or lead magnet c. Or use a dark post (one that is added using Power Editor and does not show up on the page) to promote your offer d. Preferably, use a tab with a lead magnet that then leads to an offer 4. Alternate way is to Create an ad to directly promote the lead magnet to the custom audience 5. Open Power Editor in Google Chrome to upload the custom audience 6. Create a FB ad to promote the tab or post on your fan page a. Use the page post engagement or clicks to website options b. add a ‘dark post’ to your FB Fan page if you choose to run directly to the offer 7. Create a strong headline and call to action for the ad 8. Put in an engaging graphic or picture for the ad if using a dark post 9. Run the ad with FB optimized for clicks or CPM (test to see which performs better) with a $5-$10/day budget to start 10. Once offer and lead magnets start to convert, optimize and split test. Increase ad spend when ads are performing well Set up an email auto responder series of 3, 7, 14 or 30 days to send content and/or training to your new leads list. Incorporate offer(s) if they do not convert at first using the post to offer option. As your leads list start to grow, send new offers to turn them into customers. You will start to see traction and building of your business when you focus on ONE task at a time. When you learn to focus and complete tasks, a wonderful thing will happen.
