DINSE developed the REVO.torch welding system with an internally guided welding torch for improved durability and access. This impressed CLAAS, an agricultural machinery manufacturer that uses DINSE equipment. The REVO.torch offers a complete welding system and allows unlimited rotation of the torch without imposing loads. It features reliable wire feeding, integrated crash protection, and standardized torch interfaces.

DINSE REVO.torch
Perfection in robot welding – all-inclusive
Hamburg – North German manufacturer DINSE uses a most impressive technology for its
REVO.torch welding system: the welding equipment is no longer guided in the conventional way,
outside the robot arm, but internally. This not only prolongs operating life but also permits the
welding torch to be turned without restriction, so that welding is simplified even at points where
access is difficult.
This impressed CLAAS, the agricultural machinery manufacturer based in Harsewinkel. CLAAS
uses DINSE equipment on its production lines. The Hamburg supplier’s prime objective when
finalising the technological concept of REVO.torch was to offer the user a complete system including
welding torch and equipment as well as the wire feed.
The unrestricted rotating movement provided by the DINSE principle, which conducts the welding
current, the shield gas and the compressed air from the torch set to the torch head, is backed by
further product advantages, above all the torch set, which can be separated on wire feeder and
rotating interface and which operates entirely without imposing torsional loads. The company’s
specialist engineers have gone to great lengths to retain the well-established quality features of
DINSE systems, such as the high-powered wire feeder, which operates at a uniform torque level
to ensure consistent wire feed over the entire speed range, or the separate shield gas supply
which avoids gas losses.
The integral air blast technique, which counteracts premature system contamination and helps to
maintain its full availability, and the reliable reproducibility of the TCP are also features that confirm
the systematic development approach that has resulted in the DINSE REVO.torch. This includes
the standardised DINSE torch head interface at the rotating interface, which simplifies attachment
of the new swan-neck pattern gas-cooled torch head and also permits changeover to existing
DINSE heads. Further evidence of this systematic approach is the policy regarding parts subject
to wear: DINSE stocks identical components for various torch heads. And since REVO.torch turns
willingly but is most reluctant to bend, integral crash protection with a deflection range of up to
15 degrees protects both the tool and the robot reliably.

2. The company founded in Hamburg by Wilhelm Dinse in 1954 is today one of the leading companies for welding
and brazing systems in Europe. DINSE systems are used in the automotive and general vehicle industry, aircraft
construction, agricultural engineering, in the construction of machines, plants and structural steel works, as well
as in traditional shipbuilding. In addition to traditional manual welding systems, DINSE has developed automatic
and robotic welding devices for many years. Based on standard components, DINSE systematically builds different
system solutions. DINSE has users with technologically exacting demands in all areas of application, be it MIG/MAG,
TIG, PLASMA or LASER welding and brazing.
