3. The recruiting landscape
has changed significantly over the
years, but there has always
been one constant:
The need to recruit in a way that
attracts the best talent – as
well as a way to distinguish the
best candidates
from the rest.
4. Over the last 10 years, the standard metal file cabinets filled
with paper applications and resumes have been replaced by
massive internet job boards, career pages on company
websites, electronic resumes, and online applications.
5. • Because of the almost limitless capacity of
digital online recruitment data, finding
candidates through these platforms
requires a different approach than it did a
decade ago, and is ever-changing. While
today’s technologies are sophisticated,
with almost endless capabilities, and can
be efficient, they can also become
overwhelming and, ultimately
troublesome for many reasons.
• However, industry and economic trends
have lead us down the technological path
where now we have more opportunity to
do our recruiting faster and more
efficiently, with more avenues and choices
than ever before
6. But there are still many
without jobs, people in the
wrong positions, open
positions, and business
flooded with resumes of under
or over qualified candidates.
With all these online tools,
systems, and networks, how
can this be possible?
7. The more advanced technology gets, the more
it necessitates both businesses and candidates,
to be specific and explicit in every area of
recruitment.
Because there are open positions and there are qualified candidates the way we
connect is by making these processes work; narrowing the gap by paying close
attention to
the way we advertise, who we advertise to, and finding out how individuals
advertise themselves.
By connecting all of these pieces we can efficiently recruit the
right people at the right time in the right place. And more
often than not qualified candidates are right in our backyard
putting their resume out into cyberspace.

SOLUTIONS
The benefit of posting open positions on AL.COM is that you have a better
local audience of more qualified candidates. However our goal isn’t just to
provide the audience; our goal is to provide you with the best service in the
industry. We recognize that a one-size-fits-all solution will not always be the
best, which is why we offer tailored solutions that fit your budget, fulfill your
needs, and exceed your expectations.
25. Online recruitment is a smart decision for any
company even if all that means is posting
positions online. You will have a higher
success rate and a better response just
because you reach more people. Even
though this seems like a simple process what
happens after that job is posted?

27. When you post an opening online you have access and reach to this
great audience. However, that audience then gets to pick and choose
from the options and often times this leads to having under or over
qualified candidates. Why is it that college graduates apply for Chief
Financial Officers while Accounting Managers with qualifying
experience do not?
28. It’s because of search.
“Keyword searching is very scientific; it requires thought and logic.
If keyword searching is not returning the right candidates, there
may be other options.”---Career Builder
29. - Searching for a title with more than one word requires putting the phrase in
quotes; otherwise, the database conducts a two-part search. –Career Builder
Typing in Project Manager (without quotes), for example, will turn up results
where the words Project and Manager appear anywhere within the text. Putting
quotes around the phrase “Project Manager” tells the search engine that these
two words have to be together and exactly in the same order.
31. Unfortunately this is not how most people understand search and often
do not search correctly. And since we have such a huge audience we’ve
then got to filter through sometimes hundreds of applications, which
has put us in no better situation then we were in before; or rely on the
computer to do this for us. So there is software to help us with this:

40. We don’t recognize job seekers as concepts
but as people. We now have the technology
and data available to help job seekers and
companies find that perfect fit. We’ve come
more than half-way, now we can get right in
front of that particular person who is on the
other side of the screen endlessly searching.
The Pharmacist who couldn’t find that
opening in Atlanta now has the ideal position
here in Alabama. And that concept cloud of
sales keywords was me. We are both where
we are today because of AL.COM. This is the
new direction of recruitment.
