2. GP Motorbike is a part of the world championship grand prix.
It is the biggest motorbike competition. In Spain it is called
the queen category, because it moves a lot of people and a
lot of money and it is the most important one.
The other parts of the Road Racing World Championship
Grand Prix are 125cc and moto 2.
The motorbikes that compete in the grand prix are
performance bikes and are not homologated to drive in
public roads.
This championship is organized by FIM (federation
International of Motorcyclists)
3. At the beginning, GP bike was 500cc two strokes but because
of pollution and fuel use it became 990 cc four strokes
The safety was very light and many riders died.
The pilots wore plastic helmets , and now the pilots wear
glass fiber, which is updated with the most modern
technology for the best safety.

7. Marco Simoncelli died from the injuries he sustained in a
crash on the second lap of the Malaysian Grand Prix. He was
24.
Simoncelli was fighting for fourth position with Alvaro
Bautista when he lost the front of his bike and slid across the
circuit, into the path of Colin Edwards and Valentino
Rossi, both of whom then hit the Honda.
Simoncelli lay stricken on the track after the crash, his helmet
having come off during the incident.
