PROJECT: Reduce cost and number of SKU’s required to suspend roll products
Existing suspension method used a combination of the following:
Injection Molded core plugs - (8)
Injection molded pad plugs - (3)
Corrugated headers - (4)
The above was replaced by developing 3 new injection molded pad plugs
(2) 6” pad plugs with a 2” hub and a 3” hub
(1) 4” pad plug with a 2” hub
Annual material cost reduction of $100K.
Labor savings and freight to be determined. New padplug supplier is 1,000 miles closer to client.
