Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression
1. Looking back at your preliminary task,
what do you feel you have learnt in the
progression
from it to the full product?
2. First magazine
Before making a rap magazine I had to first make a school magazine designed to help
students with any problems they have in school, this magazine was first made at the
start of my media course. The three pictures shows the steps i took from the start to
the final product.
3. Rap magazine
For my media project I had to make a rap magazine and from the pictures
below you can see the process of making this magazine. From the pictures
you can see I have changed the mis en scene with the smoke, the masthead
with the headphones and the colour, the font size, characters and the text. T
4. Preliminary task and final
product
• As you can see from the two pictures there is a massive
difference between the two magazines. The school
magazine looks like it could have been made in a day
whereas the rap magazine looks like it took longer to
make. The rap magazine looks like there has been more
effort and thought put in to it. The difference between
the two magazines is that only one of them looks like a
magazine. The progress i have made in magazine
design is my knowledge on what a magazine looks like
and the knowledge on what programs i can use to
make the magazine and the programs that can make
my magazine look better
5. This is layout i had made to use for my magazine obviously this layout
was a rough idea on how my magazine was going to look so its not
exactly the same as my final product
6. What have you learnt in terms of
research and planning?
• In terms of research and planning I have
learnt that it is vital otherwise you will
struggle to know what to do. Research is
important so you know what type of magazine
to create, you know what type of magazine
your audience likes so far example the forms
and conventions such as cover lines and cover
mounts. Planning is important so you know
how you are going to start your project and
the next steps in creating the final product.
7. What have you learnt in terms of
production?
• In terms of production I have learnt that its
important to know what programs you are
going to use and its important to know how to
use them. I have also learnt when you create a
magazine it is never perfect and there is
always ways to make the magazine better so
far example my magazine front cover has
changed many times.
8. What have you learnt in terms of time-
management?
• In terms of time management I have learnt
that its best that you finish your magazine way
before deadline in order for you to have time
to make any improvements to it in addition it
creates less stress because you might have
other work you have to do so its best to
complete a magazine at a good standard early.
9. If you were given a new media project,
how would you go about it now?
• If I was given a new media project I would be
confident I can make an even better project than
the piece I have made, I believe that because I
have more knowledge on media products, more
knowledge on programs such as Photoshop and
more knowledge on what my target audience
wants I can create a better product. I would also
feel that I would plan it better so I know the exact
steps am taking before I make it and I would
complete faster in order to make any changes to
it later.
