Jerry Uelsmann is an American analogue photographer born in 1934 who lives in Gainesville, Florida. He is known for his surrealist photocompositions created in the darkroom through techniques like multiple exposures and manipulating negatives to combine different images. Uelsmann sees photography as a way to creatively explore the world and believes there are no uninteresting subjects, only uninterested people. He taught photography at the University of Florida and is married to artist Maggie Taylor.
