• Komissaari Moedasin aloite 2016
• Pohjana vuonna 2012 hyväksytyn EU:n
biotalousstrategian tavoite vahvistaa biotalouden
poliittista merkitystä kansainvälisesti ja erityisesti
tutkimuksen näkökulmasta identifioida ja tunnistaa
maailmanlaajuisesti asiaan liittyviä tulevaisuuden
tutkimustarpeita
3. Tavoitteet
• Helpottaa biotalouteen liittyvää kansainvälistä ajatustenvaihtoa

mm. COP21:n päätösten ja YK:n vuosituhattavoitteiden
(SDG21) toimeenpanoa tukevaa tutkimusta
• Huolehtia siitä, että asiaan liittyvät resurssit saadaan
tehokkaasti käyttöön
• Ajatustenvaihtoa myös mm. kansainvälisten
biotalousindikaattorien kehittämisestä

Tavoitteet ja toiminta:
• Kevyt Hallinto, joustava toiminta, toimintaorientoitunut, ei työn
päällekkäisyyttä
• Tutkimusohjelmien koordinaatio ja synergioiden lisääminen
• Tuottavat roadmapin, jossa kuvataan odotettujen vaikutusten
ja tavoitteiden
• Perustavat esim. websivuston, joka sisältää esim. teemaan
liittyvän keskutelufoorumin
