Oracle Plug-in For Open ModelSphere

The Oracle plug-in for Open ModelSphere supports a wide range of concepts and
descriptors that are forwarded to, reverse engineered from or synchronized with an
Oracle database. For a complete description of the concepts and descriptors, please
consult the document here.
Open ModelSphere detects the Oracle plug-in as soon as it is installed. The Oracle
plug-in will automatically be selected for forward engineering of database models
with target system Oracle. It will be used for synchronization and reverse
engineering, if Open ModelSphere is connected to an Oracle database via JDBC
driver.

The following sequence of slides shows the forward engineering functionality of the

The interface dialog for Oracle forward engineering offers to select the generation of
Create, Drop or Drop/Create statements for all or a customizable subset of the
database concepts shown on the right side of the window.

On the left side of the window, the users to be included in the SQL generation, on
the right side, the subset of user objects, e.g. tables, can be selected.
Additional parameters for the SQL script can be chosen by “Set Generation
Variables…”, e.g. to include the comments of tables and columns in the SQL script, to
insert the name of the owner / user as a name prefix for all objects that are user-
related.
“Proceed” starts the generation process …

…, i.e. allows to set the name and target directory for the SQL script file.

The status window informs about the progress of the generation process.
“Show Details” allows to follow the progress in detail.

Eventually, the status window shows the completion of the generation process.
“Show Details” allows to view the name and location of the generated file.
