5. JUSTIFICATION OF CHOOSING THE TOPIC
The existence of the clubs in NSU are meaningful or not
Generalized idea about the clubs according to the students
To know if association with clubs are helping the students to get jobs
To know the reason behind the non members not joining the clubs
To investigate how NSU authority is helping the clubs to organize
different events
6. DEFINITION OF THE TOPIC
NSU students have excelled in extra curricular activities
Students participate in a whole gamut of activities under 18 different
clubs.
These activities include organizing seminars, debate, drama, music,
publishing student journals contributing poems and stories to the national
dailies, donating blood to administering polio vaccines.
The clubs are run by the students and supervised by faculty advisors.
7. THE TERMS DEFINED
CLUB - A group of people organized for a common purpose like
social, literary, athletic, political or other purpose; especially a group that meets
regularly
ACTIVITIES - An educational process or procedure intended to stimulate
learning through actual experience.
IMPACT – The effect or impression of one thing on another.
8. PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH
To obtain a purview of the perceptions of the students about the clubs
and their activities in general
Influence of club activities in igniting the inner talents of the students
and career development
Ability of members in balancing their studies and participation in club
activities
The initiatives taken by the clubs and NSU authority to attract more
student participation

Surveyed members of the club to know the impact of clubbing in
their personal lives

the clubs

We have collected all the data by direct face to face
communication that included questionnaire for the survey and
checklists of question for interview.
We also did participant observation which was also done under
direct communication.

About 90% of members and non-members think
clubbing affects academic results to some extent.
But the club members specified the reason has
more to do with class timings clashing with club
meetings rather than club activities.

95% of the members said yes. They believe due to NSU clubs
they got a platform to enhance their innate abilities.

other. Executive members try to create a friendly environment to
build an unity among the members.

34. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
Most of the students showed a positive attitude towards the clubs
and its activities.
87% of the sample believed through Clubs activities students
can build various skills like
leadership, organizing, communicating, coordinating, networking,
etc.
Members informed that they experience a friendly and
comfortable environment in the clubs initiated by the executive
bodies
Executive members think club activities sometimes affects the
academic results only due to clashing of classes with club
meetings
Part of the sample highly believes that association with the club
enhances the curriculum vitae
35. RECOMMENDATION
Students think that the NSU authority should promote and
encourage more students to join clubs.
NSU authority should assign a monitoring committee to strictly
monitor the club activities
There should be strict rules and regulations followed by the club
executive members.
