Question by G.P.S.R: How can you convert a pro tools file to an audio file so i
can post it up on myspace?
I made a song using pro tools 8- m powered but i dnt know how to load it on to myspace
as an audio file without it being a large file or have any errors.! PLEASE HELP.
Best answer:
Answer by KDecka
File > Bounce to.
This will bring up a dialog box asking you about file format, sample rate, and bit depth.
By default, Pro Tools will bounce to .wav, and .aiff. (mp3′s are only available with an
upgrade to the Music Production Toolkit 2, DV Toolkit, or Complete Production Toolkit).
The lower the sample rate, the smaller the file size at the cost of high end frequency. The
smaller the bit depth the smaller the sample rate at the cost of quantization or amplitude.
One minute of stereo audio at 44.1, 16-bits (CD quality) will be approximately 10MB of
data which is useful to know in case the file can only be a certain size.
Another thing to note: bounce the file as a stereo interleaved file. This will create just one
stereo file instead of a separate file for each channel. Also, if you need to go below
44.1/16, take off of the sample rate as decreases in bit-depth cause a far greater loss of
quality than decreases of sample rate.

Question by Nik S: What exactly is a tuner in a projection tv?
For instance i might buy a 52″ tv that needs a new tuner car home mini. I remember
when my parents had one that the tuner went bad and it needed to be fixed but i’ve never
know exactly what it is? How hard is it to Fix and/or replace
Best answer:
Answer by Kenny M
A tuner in any tv is the coax plug in the back of the tv and internally it ―tunes‖ in your
cable or antenna channels. If you have satellite or digital or HD cable with a cable box,
you don’t use the tuner in the tv anyway. You ―tune‖ your channels with the
satellite/cable box. You’ll hook up the box to the tv using HDMI or component video if
HD or composite video if just digital. It wouldn’t be worth repairing the tuner.

If it is M-Powered Pro Tools, then yes, very easily. Otherwise, the files may need to be
consolidated so they all have the same start time and same file length and then imported,
track by track into PT. I do this all th time to get Pro Tools files in to Logic.

canon eos rebel t2i 550d

canon eos rebel t2i 550d
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., February 8, 2010 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging,
today introduced the new flagship model for the Company’s highly popular Rebel DSLR
line: the Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera. Today’s photo enthusiast is looking
for a camera that will grow with them as they learn, and that is a perfect description of
15. the new EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera. Retaining all of the traditional characteristics
that have made the EOS Rebel series beloved by entry-level photographers and an
industry best-seller, the new Rebel T2i succeeds in bridging the gap between an entry-
level camera and a true pro-sumer camera.
Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i
The Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera includes a variety of new features for photographic
assignments as varied as grabbing that action shot from the sidelines or creating
memorable family portraits, including: 3.7 fps shooting, an ISO range of 100-6400
(expandable to 12,800), a 63-zone Dual Layer Metering System, and Canon’s DIGIC 4
Imaging Processor. There are some moments in our lives where video helps capture the
moment better than a still image, and the Rebel T2i offers the best of both worlds with
Full HD 1080p video as well as 18-megapixel still images. The Rebel T2i DSLR continues
Canon’s industry-leading trend in Full HD DSLR video capture with manual exposure
control, selectable frame rates and a new external microphone input. There is also a new
feature for standard definition recording, Movie Crop, which provides an approximate 7x
additional zoom with no loss of image quality when shooting SD quality video.
"There is no question that HD video is the biggest trend in DSLR technology and because
of this we are seeing the creativity of still photographers transferring to the moving
image. Still photographers are using the various lenses and accessories they are already
familiar with to create amazing video footage," stated Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice
president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A. "Taking that
HD video quality and putting it in the hands of entry-level photographers with cameras
like our new EOS Rebel T2i, we are seeing a new generation of creative digital artists
emerge."
Lights, Rebel, Action – EOS HD Video
Canon’s EOS HD video capture has helped spark a major movement in digital imaging,
empowering still photographers with the ability to experiment, learn and capture
stunning high-definition video through a variety of creative lenses. Continuing this
imaging revolution, the new EOS Rebel T2i puts entry-level photographers on the
frontline equipped with all the latest EOS HD video features including full HD video at
1920×1080 resolution, selectable frame rates, full manual exposure control and the visual
options of interchangeable lenses. Manual video exposure control provides novice
filmmakers with the image control they are accustomed to in a still camera, all while
shooting professional-level cinematic video. Professional photographers utilize creative
16. lighting, adjustable depth-of-field and a variety of lenses to create powerful still images
and video footage, and these are exactly the tools that the new Rebel T2i gives to budding
photo and video enthusiasts. Adding a new professional-level feature for EOS cameras,
the Rebel T2i includes an Auto ISO function that works in all Creative Zone exposure
modes including Manual where users can set a limit to the highest ISO the camera will
use, enabling them to retain the lighting and look they desire for a scene. By setting an
Auto ISO range, videographers can retain dark shadow areas and avoid blowing out
highlight areas in a scene while still retaining the benefit of automatic ISO adjustments.
The Rebel T2i DSLR captures video in both NTSC (National Television System
Committee) and PAL (Phase Altering Line) standards at selectable frame rates including
Full HD 1920 x 1080 at 30 (29.97), 25 or 24 (23.976) fps, and HD 1280 x 720 or Standard
Definition 640 x 480 quality video, at 60 (59.94) or 50 fps.
For easier video recording operation and familiar functionality for beginners, the Rebel
T2i’s autofocus can be operated before or during video recording by pressing the shutter
button half-way down in video mode. Another feature debuting in the Rebel T2i is
Canon’s new Movie Crop mode, where the user can achieve 7x magnification when
shooting SD video for a significantly increased "telephoto" effect. Unlike the digital zoom
feature found in many compact digital cameras, Canon’s new Movie Crop mode actually
crops the image directly from the CMOS sensor at full SD resolution to preserve
maximum image quality and provide additional zoom power. The new Movie Crop
feature is especially helpful for achieving extra full resolution zoom power when filming
youth sports, such as a child running to the furthest end of a field. For better sound
quality when shooting video, the Rebel T2i DSLR includes an external stereo microphone
jack, a first for an EOS Rebel model, in addition to its built-in monaural microphone.
These audio and video features supplement a tremendous range of additional must-have
video features in an entry-level Digital SLR camera.
For enhanced viewing pleasure and easy video sharing at home, the HDMI video-out
capability of the Rebel T2i DSLR includes a new Consumer Electronics Control (CEC)
compatibility which allows users to play back still or video files on a CEC-compliant
HDTV, using the TV remote to control the camera when connected via HDMI interface.
Camera Feature Set
Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2iThe EOS Rebel T2i DSLR features a newly developed 18-
million-pixel Canon CMOS imaging sensor providing outstanding resolution and light
sensitivity for amazing poster-sized prints with fine detail and stunning color. The
camera exhibits exceptional low-noise performance incorporating many of the same
17. technologies used to reduce noise in professional cameras such as the EOS 7D. The Rebel
T2i camera’s basic ISO range is an amazing 100~6400, and via a Custom Function, it can
be extended to ISO 12,800. The outstanding ISO range combined with its noise reduction
technology allows the Rebel T2i to capture outstanding low-light pictures at events such
as candlelit birthday celebrations or recitals where flash photography may be prohibited.
The camera provides 3.7 fps continuous shooting for still photos, making it the fastest
shooting Rebel model to date and enabling users to capture that great image of a little
leaguer’s first swing. The camera features Canon’s proprietary iFCL 63-zone dual-layer
metering system offering intelligent Evaluative metering with much finer segmentation
than any previous EOS Rebel model. The new Rebel T2i also has an expanded ± 5 EV
exposure compensation range allowing for much more versatility when shooting in
extremely bright or dark environments; or when shooting HDR (high dynamic range)
images.
The Rebel T2i DSLR includes a number of professional-level user-selectable Canon image
processing features to enhance the image quality of in-camera JPEG files, and to tag
RAW images for processing later through Canon’s Digital Photo Professional software
(included with the camera). These features include Canon’s Auto Lighting Optimizer to
enhance shadow detail and add contrast to "flat" scenes, Highlight Tone Priority adding
up to one stop of detail in bright highlight areas, Peripheral Illumination Correction for
automatic correction of vignetting, High ISO Noise Reduction with four user-selectable
settings, and Long Exposure Noise Reduction applied to exposures one second or longer.
These Canon image enhancements provide new photographers with professional quality
automatic image correction on JPEG files right out of the camera.
The EOS Rebel T2i digital camera includes a new enhanced 3-inch LCD monitor featuring
1.04 million dots with a wide 3:2 aspect ratio, wider than previous EOS models. The
Rebel T2i camera’s LCD monitor can display a full-screen video image utilizing the entire
screen during playback. For maximum storage capacity the new EOS Rebel T2i Digital
SLR camera is the first EOS model to support SDXC memory cards. With all the new and
exciting features of the EOS Rebel T2i, the Rebel series continues to provide great Canon
features such as Live View, a built-in pop-up flash, and the EOS integrated cleaning
system, as well as compatibility with Canon EX-series Speedlites and Canon EF and EF-S
lenses allowing users to fully explore multiple creative photographic possibilities. The
new EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera is also compatible with Canon’s new BG-E8
battery grip and new RC-6 wireless remote control for both still images and video
capture.
18. Pricing and Availability
The Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera is scheduled to be delivered to U.S. dealers
in early March, and will be sold in a body-only configuration at an estimated retail price
of 9.99. It will also be offered in a kit version with Canon’s EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
zoom lens at an estimated retail price of 9.99.
Question by Ksawery: Skype + Bluetooth + Headset Problem?
Hi all!
I have got a problem with my laptop. It has not got bluetooth built in so I bought a BT
adapter in order to connect it to my BT headset to use it with Skype.
I think the problem might be with the BT adaptor, because AFAIK it has to have some
kind of profile in order to communicate with the headset.
So the BT Adaptor is described as ―100 Metre Version 2.0 USB Bluetooth Dongle Adapter
Compatible With Windows VISTA and A2DP (Wireless Stereo Music Transfer) Support‖
* Compatible with all Bluetooth devices – Bluetooth V2.0 (Backwards compatible version
1.1/1.2)
* A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) enabled for high quality stereo sound
transfer – SKYPE Compatible
So I have paired the headset with the PC, and it is connected as an ―Audio Device‖. But
when I open Skype and go to TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> AUDIO SETTINGS I cant see it in
the drop down lists that contain the audio devices on the PC.
HELP PLS!

At the new Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat, two new yards feature several enriching
features for both animal and visitor enjoyment and add more than 12,000 square feet to
the pandas’ outdoor exhibit. Additions to the indoor exhibit include a new room with a
rocky outcrop and waterfall, another den, and more visitor viewing space and
informational exhibits.

Experience Asia Trail with an online and audio tour from Fujilfilm.
The creation of this state-of-the-art research facility and habitat is made possible in part
by Fujifilm, who donated .8 million to the Zoo’s giant panda program, the single largest
sponsorship ever provided to the Zoo.
Many sustainable design strategies, such as planted “green†roofs to reduce
stormwater runoff, were incorporated into the new habitat. Other elements include a
solar hot water system; natural tree-resin bound paving material, instead of petroleum-

which is naturally resistant to pests and rot; and dried bamboo, because it is rapidly
renewable resource and does not deplete the environment when harvested. more Asia

The pandas’ state-of-the-art Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat is designed to mimic the
pandas’ natural habitat of rocky, lush terrain in China. Each element has a purpose—from
helping the pandas stay cool in hot weather to giving them a place to hide when they need
privacy. There are rock and tree structures perfect for climbing; grottoes, pools, and
streams for keeping cool; and shrubs and trees, including weeping willows, corktrees, and
maples, and several species of bamboo.
Water-cooled grotto has cold-water pipes in the walls that provide a cool respite.
Low trees and shrubs provide shade and cover.
Fog grove creates a misty retreat from the heat.
Pools and streams offer refreshing dips on hot days.
Rocks and fallen trees allow for climbing and exercise.
Visitors can enjoy two levels from which to view the pandas, several areas where they may
be just inches away from the bears, separated only by glass, and the new Clint Fields
Conservation Plaza, where they can learn more about efforts to save pandas and their
habitat through the stories of real people here and in China. At the Plaza’s Decision
Stations, people can get a sense of the complexity of conservation choices by watching
videos about wildlife-people dilemmas and deciding which actions to take. Other features
at the Plaza include a topographic map of the mountains of central China and exhibits
about alternative economic activities to reduce habitat destruction. Portraits of villagers,
scientists, park rangers, and others, with the real tools of their conservation work, will be
highlighted. Multimedia displays of photos, video, and audio will give visitors a sense of
place, introducing them to the sights and sounds of China’s wilds.

University of Maryland Introduces iPads as Part of

University of Maryland Introduces iPads as Part of Mobility Initiative
Image by University of Maryland Press Releases
COLLEGE PARK, Md – As further demonstration of the university’s strong commitment
to new educational technologies and innovation across diverse media, all 75 students
enrolled in the University of Maryland’s newly-launched Digital Cultures and Creativity
(DCC) living and learning program within the Honors College were given an Apple iPad
at the start of the fall semester (above – Terp Freshman Victoria Lai receives her new
iPad from OIT’s Michael Hooker).
This device will be fully integrated into the program’s curriculum, where it will serve as
the basis for content delivery and instruction. Students will also have the opportunity to
learn to develop their own applications for the iPad. The devices were handed out in late
August when students move onto campus. This latest action is part of the university’s
Mobility Initiative, a pilot program studying whether mobile technology enhances the
student education experience.
22. "DCC is thrilled to be joining the university’s innovative Mobility Initiative," said Dr.
Matthew Kirschenbaum, Associate Professor of English and Director of Digital Cultures
and Creativity. Kirschenbaum adds, "Many of DCC’s students are digital natives who will
come to campus already having programmed their own applications, made their own
electronic music and art, or designed their own interactive media. They will use their
iPads in the context of a curriculum that immerses them in the surprisingly long and
complex history of thought behind today’s new media devices. They will learn to develop
new content for the platform, as well as use it to consume rich media integral to their
education."
DCC’s faculty includes Associate Professor of Computer Science and former director of
the University of Maryland’s Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory Ben Bederson,
who has already developed applications for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
For nearly two years, the University of Maryland has been studying whether
incorporating mobile technology enhances the student educational experience.
Sponsored by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost,
the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and the Office of Information Technology, the
Mobility Initiative began in fall 2008. During its two years of existence, 280 freshmen in
the Banneker/Key Scholarship and Maryland Incentive Awards programs have been
given either an iPhone or iPod touch to test inside and outside of class.
In addition to the 75 DCC students who received an Apple iPad in the fall, approximately
160 new freshmen in the Banneker/Key Scholarship and Maryland Incentive Awards
programs were given either an iPhone or iPod touch devices – bringing the number of
student pilot participants to approximately 515.
During the initiative’s first year, more than 130 student participants used the mobile
devices to substitute for student response devices (also known as clickers) in class, to
access the mobile versions of the university’s portal and learning management system,
and to participate in varied special activities, such as research scavenger hunts.
For its second year, the pilot study expanded to include additional students, professors,
and learning opportunities. New efforts were undertaken to support faculty in their
efforts to incorporate mobile learning into their courses, including offering a set of iPod
touch devices that can be loaned out to students in a course to support specific learning
activities.
23. Additionally, an Office of Information Technology (OIT) and Center for Teaching
Excellence (CTE) partnership gives participants in the CTE’s Summer Institute for
New(er) Technologies the opportunity to explore integrating mobile learning activities
into their courses with support from OIT.
"Four fall courses and five spring courses have been part of these efforts," said Ellen Yu
Borkowski, Director of Academic Support in the Office of Information Technology. "Some
of the mobile learning activities in these courses include recording assessments of high
school PE teachers, recording use of media as part of an international research study,
collecting and distributing interpretations of poetry, and using the devices’ recording and
playback features in support of learning foreign languages. OIT and the CTE plan to
continue this partnership into the Mobility Initiative’s third year," Borkowski said.
Additionally, for the spring 2010 semester, a new upper-level computer science offering
was introduced to the university’s curriculum. The new course, "CMSC498I: Selected
Topics in Computer Science: Programming the iPhone," covers topics such as iPhone
development tools and fundamentals; user interface design; media considerations related
to gaming, audio, and video; and usability and quality assessment. As part of the course,
students are developing new mobile applications for the iPhone, specifically focusing on
ones that can be deployed and used across the university as part of Maryland’s overall
efforts to support mobile devices on campus.
Digital Cultures and Creativity is sponsored by the College of Arts and Humanities, with
co-sponsorship from the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities, the
Department of Computer Science, and the College of Information Studies. Learn more
