2. Two types of tundra are Arctic and Alpine tundra.

3. The Arctic tundra is a cold, vast, treeless area of low, swampy plains in the far north around the Arctic Ocean.

4. It includes the northern lands of Europe (Lapland, Scandinavia), Asia (Sibira), and North America (Alaska and Canada).

5. Alpine Tundra is treeless because of high elevation rather than high latitude.

6. Permafrost is permanently frozen soil, subsoil or other deposit characteristic of arctic and some sub arctic regions similar conditions are also found very high altitudes in mountain ranges.

7. Three types of animals are caribou, arctic fox and polar bears.
