6. Dorcus Inzikura
• Born: 2nd February 1982
• From Uganda
• Professional athlete
• She won two gold medals in 3,000
and 5,000 meter steeplechase.
• She won these medals in 1999.

• Heroes Day: Heroes Day is celebrated on the
9th of June to remember all those who
sacrificed their lives to keep peace and
security in their community.
• They also celebrate other festivals such as
Christmas, Easter and New Years.
8. Gorillas
Very popular
• Height:6ft (Mountain Gorillas)
• Predators: Leopards and crocodiles.
• In Uganda there is a gorilla safari. People go to
see the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas
in Uganda.

mountain gorillas in Uganda than in Rwanda
or Congo?
9. Tourist Attractions
• Rubaga cathedral is the oldest cathedral
in Uganda.
• It’s a very religious site that tourists co to
see.
• The Uganda museum is more of a science
museum than a history museum.

• National bird: Crested Crane
• Three popular birds are: The pygmy Falcon,
Fox kestrel and the black-headed plover.
