Get Rid of Mealtime Madness with Weekly Meal Plans
Weekly meal plans are the undisputed solution for everyone who suffers through "Mealtime Madness." That's because with weekly meal plans you know WHAT you're fixing and WHEN you're fixing it.
So… what exactly are weekly meal plans?
Weekly meal plans are:
• Complete Meal Plans
• Created in Advance
• Based on What's Going on in Your Family's Life
How to Create Weekly Meal Plans
If you have any idea what your family likes to eat then you're well on your way to creating the perfect weekly meal plans for your family.
Seems like daunting task I know.
However, it's important to understand that there are actually only a few steps in accomplishing this work.
First, write down everything your family likes to eat. That means if they love chicken nuggets but you're trying to get them away from that "junk" you still write it down.
Keep a sheet of paper handy on the counter, in your purse, or on your desk. This is going to be an ongoing activity. Ask the family to help.
Second, group all the foods into categories. You can have "Main Meat" or broken down into "Chicken," "Beef," etc. Make sure to include veggies, casseroles, desserts, and salads.
Third, if you have preferences make sure they go together into the meal plan. My mother always made macaroni and cheese, butter beans, and applesauce with pork. Always.
The only way these meal plans will work is to think and plan ahead. If you plan a meal which takes an hour to prepare on a night when you only have 30 minutes then you're in trouble.
Worse, that weekly meal plan won't have done what it was supposed to do which was to make your life easier.
You can spend time and energy creating weekly meal plans each and every week but if you don't actually use them you'll have wasted your time.
My job as a Home Time Management Coach is to help you save time on the things you HAVE to do… such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and housework so that you can reinvest that time into your marriage, your kids, your family and friends, and even yourself.
