2. Randy, dying of pancreatic
cancer, gave his speech
properly titled “The Last
Lecture” which has
affected many lives
through the upbeat
storytelling of his
childhood dreams.
3. In his introduction, he captured the audience
by telling them his grim situation. But despite
that, he was very upbeat assuring the audience
not to feel bad for him.
4. He kept the audience engaged throug
telling different stories all throughout h
that would apply and reinforce his idea
also makes many jokes (some are somew
dark) that keep the audience laughing.
5. Of the “TED” Commandments, he uses four
and eight the most. All throughout the hour
and fifteen minute speech Randy is constantly
keeping the audience entertained with story
after story. These stories not only help make his
point but also keep people laughing.
6. In terms of dynamism, I believe randy
deserves a 5/5. No question. He did push-ups.
7. There really wasn’t any room for
improvement. He was on the floor doing push-
ups. He was moving around as he was talking.
He brought his wife up to sing her happy
birthday.

15. Randy however used his cancer situation to
help make and solidify some of his points. He
also used it differently as a kind of dark
humor, making light of a serious and grim
situation

explain, relate to, and emphasize your subject.
Also try and look at things from different
perspectives or in a unique way.
