1. Welcome to RCOS

2. Information
● Join our Google group : http://groups.google.
com/group/rcos-at-rensselaer?hl=en (An invitation is sent
out a week ago. If you did not receive it please let us know)
● Visit our website: http://rcos.rpi.edu
● Visit our chatroom: #rcos on irc.freenode.net . There are
almost always 5 or so folks in the channel.
● We meet every Friday in Lally 104 at 12:00 pm during the
semester. Please try to attend all meeting and share your
knowledge
● Please do not use laptops during RCOS meetings!
3. First Tasks
● Create a blog, a wiki and code repository for your project
● Start to prepare your first talk - an introduction to your
project and schedule of work
● Read, understand, sign, and return the RCOS Conditions of
Membership document
4. Other Information
● We have recently been given laboratory space in Lally 102
○ Please share this space with others (be co-operative)
○ Our office hours are on Tuesday 2-4:00 pm in AE 127
● We need peer mentors. Please volunteer if you have
worked in RCOS for at least 3 semesters.
● Share your knowledge freely. This is how you gain
reputation and fame!
● Please make a detailed schedule of your project (what you
are going to accomplish - both goals and tasks).
● If you are working in groups, please meet with your group
members and make sure everyone is involved.
5. Final Remarks
● Push your code sooner than later. Blog every week.
● Good luck with your work. Your hard work is the reason for
the success of RCOS!
