Coaching For Performance
Tips: Get rapport. (Match and Mirror, Para and parrot phrase)
Ask effective questions. (What, Where, When, Why, How etc.)
Actively listen to what is being said. (Shut-up)
Respond with empathy and maintain your state throughout.
Starting Point: On a scale of 1-10 how well do you think you have done? (Focus on
the score given)
Get the person being coached to validate their score. (Focus on the
positives)
Goals (Clear and
Precise)
Are the Goals Specific?
Are the Goals Measurable?
What went well? Focus on positive
things.
Areas of opportunity, what do you think
you can do to obtain you Goals?
Overall comments
Realistic
Are the Goals relevant?
Are the Goals achievable?
Ask the person being coached where they
are now?
Options
Are the options obtainable in a short
period of time?
Is the person being coached enthusiastic
about the options?
