This document examines digital films as examples of cyborg expressions that aim to blur the boundaries between reality and fiction. It discusses cyborg theory and how digital films employ emerging technologies to fuse the real and unreal. Three case studies are presented: Mirrormask explores the relationship between dreams and reality; Sin City portrays resistant female characters that subvert stereotypes; and Beowulf tests boundaries with its graphic content. The document considers how effective digital films have been in promoting cyborg ideas and questions whether we are truly living in a post-modern, cyborg era.
