This session explores the opportunities and challenges of using a single network to support both storage and networking. The Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and iSCSI (SCSI over TCP/IP) protocols offer two approaches for supporting storage over Ethernet. Standards, technologies and deployment scenarios for both protocols will be covered, along with the future of storage networking technology. Objective 1: Describe FCoE and iSCSI and how they fit into existing storage and networking infrastructure. After this session you will be able to: Objective 2: Explain how FCoE and iSCSI solutions provide storage networking options for Ethernet, including 10Gb Ethernet. Objective 3: Describe some of the opportunities and challenges of converging storage and networking environments.

Evolving from FME Desktop-based processes to FME Server integrations is often a growing pain. Organizations sometimes struggle with the promotion management of FME workflows through the DTAP street. During the presentation, we will explain some solutions to avoid having hard-coded server names, passwords or API endpoints in the Workspace itself. We will focus on: developing the process in FME Desktop, the configuration of the different environments of FME Server, the usage of Web and Database Connections, the use of Projects and validation of these Projects and the Workspaces. The goal is that nothing needs to change in the Workspace and that even a Deployment Manager knowing very little about FME can release an FME Server process into production. The ultimate goal would be to fully automate the deployment using the FME Server API.

Overview of RARP, BOOTP, DHCP and PXE protocols for dynamic IP address assignment. Dynamic IP address assignment to a host (or interface) is a common problem in TCP/IP based networks. Manual and static assignment of IP addresses does not scale well and becomes a labor intensive task with a growing number of hosts. An early approach for dynamic IP address assignment was RARP (Reverse ARP) which ran directly on the Ethernet protocol layer. The many problems of RARP such as the inability to be routed between subnets were solved with BOOTP (Bootstrap Protocol). BOOTP, however, ended to have its own set of limitations like lack of a lease time for IP addresses. DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) was therefore defined as an extension to BOOTP. DHCP is backward compatible with BOOTP thus allowing some degree of interoperability between the 2 protocols. The state-of-the-art protocol for dynamic IP address assignment is, however, is DHCP. DHCPv6 is an adaption of DHCP for IPv6 based networks.

(Embedded Linux Conference Europe 2014) Linux uses many kind of embedded products. The products include not only consumer electronics but also control systems such as programmable logic controllers. There are many type of infrastructure systems and each system has different technical requirements. The requirements include not only real-time performance but also reliability-related functions. The infrastructure systems have to meet all the requirements. This presentation gives a summary of our study and development to adapt the Linux to infrastructure systems. Then we discuss the direction of future development. Please note, this presentation doesn't focus on a specific product.

The company Flutterwave is headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States. In 2016, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Olugbenga Agboola, and Adeleke Adekoya established Flutterwave. It offers a payment infrastructure to international merchants and payment service providers throughout Africa. The company operates in various African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, and others. Ruby has a lot of standard libraries from Ruby 1.8. I promote them democratically with GitHub today via default and bundled gems. So, I'm working to extract them for Ruby 3.4 continuously and future versions. It's long journey for me. After that, some versions may suddenly happen LoadError at require when running bundle exec or bin/rails, for example matrix or net-smtp. We need to learn what's difference default/bundled gems with standard libraries. In this presentation, I will introduce what's the difficult to extract bundled gems from default gems and the details of the functionality that Ruby's require and bundle exec with default/bundled gems. You can learn how handle your issue about standard libraries.
