• There are many techniques used for the Imitation
Games to market the film.
• Some of these techniques are: Posters, Trailers,
Teasers, Big Actors, Quizes
• Using big Actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch helped
the film enormously because he attracts a wider
audience. He is one of the biggest actors in the industry
and which means the audience is increased
• They cleverly used quizzes, and easter eggs. This was a
very good technique for this filmed as it resembled it
because the film is about breaking morse codes in the
war, therefore this technique relates to the film.
• In the adverts they advertise both the movie; they
advertised the person (Alan Turing). The ad was showing
us the amazing impact he has had on the modern world
and how much of an inspiration he has been.
Why was is so
successful?
It was successful due to the national distribution. This means it was released
all across England.
They used many techniques to increase the popularity and wider audience;
• Ads
• Big actors
• Posters
• Easter Eggs
• Teasers
• Trailers
