Top News :
• ALSTOM India Ltd has been awarded a contract worth close to €125 million (i.e. 10,700 million INR) by BHEL for the 2X500 MW Neyveli New
Thermal Power Project (NNTPP) located at Neyveli in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. Under the scope of the contract, Alstom will co-operate
with BHEL in conceptualising, designing, engineering and supplying two tower boilers and the complete lignite milling and firing equipment, and
critical components. The order is 38% of sales .
• DLF completed the sale of its 74% stake in the insurance joint venture with Prudential Financial, Inc. of USA to Dewan Housing Finance
Corporation Limited (DHFL) & its group entities. The name of the JV shall change from DLF Pramerica Life Insurance Company Ltd. (DPLI) to DHFL
Pramerica Life Insurance Company Ltd. (DHFL PLI).
•Lupin Limited (Lupin) announced that its US subsidiary Lupin has launched its Abacavir Sulfate, Lamivudine,and Zidovudine Tablets, 300 mg (ba
se) /150 mg /300in the US after the US District Court for the District of Delaware ruled that the Lupin’s generic version of Trizivir® did not
infringe on patents.
• Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer and part of Adani Group, a global integrated player, today
said it had completed the Rs 400 crore steam coal import terminal at Visakhapatnam port, eight months ahead of schedule marking an entry on
the east coast of India.
• AIA Engineering had informed the that in a Patent infringement action between Magotteaux International (MI) Belgium and the Company,
involving Sintercast products in USA, the United States District Court had passed a judgement awarding damages of approximately $7.2 Million .
AIA Engineering Ltd has now informed BSE that a Settlement Agreement has been entered into between Company and MI to avoid uncertainty
of the outcome of further litigation and legal and other expense including of the current ongoing litigation and to resolve the dispute amicably
and avoid further damages and litigation costs. Company has informed that, pursuant to the said Settlement Agreement entered into with MI,
the Company has paid USD 6.00 Million on December 16, 2013 to MI in consideration of the dismissal of the litigation and mutual release from
claims among the parties.
• Asian Paints's Chemical Plant engaged in manufacturing of Penta situated at Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, has taken temporary shut down for
annual preventive maintenance. This will not have any material impact on the operations of the Company.
• Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd has informed that Forward Markets Commission (FMC) has accorded its approval to M/s Blackstone
GPV Capital partners (Mauritius) VI FII Ltd. to increase its stake in Company upto 4.99% through secondary market transaction.
• U.K. Office for National Statistics said that the claimant count fell by a seasonally adjusted 36,700 last month, better than expectations for a
decline of 35,000 people. October’s figure was revised to a drop of 42,800 people from a previously reported decline of 41,700.
• RBI keeps unchanged the repo rate @ 7.75 % . RBI keeps unchanged the CRR @ 4 % . RBI keeps unchanged the MSF & Bank rate @ 8.75 %
• The Confederation of British Industry said the result of its index of U.K. retailers improved to 34.0 this month from a reading of 1.0 in
November. Analysts had expected the index to rise to 10.0 in December.
