2. A thunderstorm is a storm with lightning and thunder. Its produced by a cumulonimbus cloud, usually producing gusty winds, heavy rain and sometimes hail. What is a Thunderstorm?
3. The basic ingredients used to make a thunderstorm are moisture, unstable air and lift. You need moisture to form clouds and rain. You need unstable air that is relatively warm and can rise rapidly. Finally, you need lift. This can form from fronts, sea breezes or mountains. What causes a thunderstorm?
4. Thunder is caused by lightning. When a lightning bolt travels from the cloud to the ground it actually opens up a little hole in the air, called a channel. Once then light is gone the air collapses back in and creates a sound wave that we hear as thunder. The reason we see lightning before we hear thunder is because light travels faster than sound! What causes thunder?
5. Thunderstorms can make a lot of noise and light but it is the torrential rain and wind that comes with it that can affect people by damaging their homes and property and causing blackouts.
6. Thunderstorms effect people by killing some of them and destroying their homes. some people because of thunderstorms have to live on the streets with no food. I'm not an expert but the last time i checked thunderstorms don't do anything but make lots of noise and light...........it's the torrential downpours of rain that cause people to lose their homes and lives........soooooo don't blame thunderstorms. Note: There are comments associated In Australia, the Bereau of Meterology conducts a lot of studies on Thunderstorms. . Scientists who study weather are called Meterologists.
