2. History of Tumblr
• Tumblr was launched on April 27, 2007 by David
Karp. Within two weeks of its launch, the service had
gained 75,000 users.
• In year 2009, Apple Inc. App Store application was
created by Jeff Rock and Garrett Ross.

• I-phones and tumblr also became available to
BlackBerry smart phones on April 17,2010.
3. What is Tumblr?
• Tumblr is a micro blogging platform and social
networking website that lets you share anything.
• Users can follow other users' blogs based on the
content they post.
• As well as make their blogs private.
• Most of the features of the website are accessed
from The Dashboard.
4. Who uses Tumblr?
• Tumbler is used by various number of people
from politicians to school children.
• A study shows that mostly young adults from
the age of 15 to 25 years old use tumblr.
• Tumblr is also used to promote ones business or
even conduct it.
5. Why do people use Tumblr?
• People have different needs of tumblr like advertising
and socializing.
• They use tumblr to share texts, photos, quotes, links,
music, and videos with everyone around the world.
• They use tumblr to share their ideas and thoughts,
and also to comment on people’s pictures.
6. How to sign up for an account
Step 1: go to the website www.tumblr.com
Step 2: enter your email address and a password.
Step 3: Pick a url that you want your tumblr to be, and then start
posting.

7. The Dashboard
• The dashboard has two main functions that
allows you to browse other blogs:
• 1- Explore Tumblr: Provides a list of people to
follow and blogs you might be interested in.
• 2-Search Tags: Brings posts tagged with
whatever key word you’re searching for.
