2. We are about to create new innovations to be commercialized by Nordea. As inspiration we
have given the following themes as guidance, however we don’t mind being surprised:
 Innovative solutions that inspire customers to define, follow, and achieve their dreams.
 Paying - it's just a transaction: how to add value before and after?
 Creating a personal experience through digital touch points regardless of time and space
• Our goal is to create an innovation and learning interface between Nordea and startup
companies. It is essential to learn new agile working methods and identify the ideas that
add most value to the customers.
• In addition to concrete output we utilize this program in communication and marketing
both internally and externally to strengthen the picture of Nordea as a digital forerunner
and supporter of growth companies (social media and traditional media will be used,
internal communication is in very important role)

Venture Accelerator, is looking for new FinTech innovations to
support Nordea’s vision to become a leading digital bank in
Europe.

4. Elevator pitch
Nordea Startup Accelerator, in cooperation with
Nestholma, is looking for new FinTech
innovations to support Nordea’s vision to
become a leading digital bank in Europe.
Nordea’s specialists and external speakers will
support and mentor these selected startups in
developing their innovations during the 12-
weeks intensive program.
This accelerator program will provide seed
investment to selected startups by Nestholma
and also open the doors to wide investor
networks.

6. 6.-8.11.
Is your team the one? We are
interested in someone challenging us
with totally new and innovative
approach. Naturally it's also a benefit if
there's some form of banking included,
but don't get too hung on that. You
might be the one defining what banking
actually is in the 2020's.

7. 30-35 shortlisted startups will be
selected for pitching event to pitch
their idea to experts from Nordea,
Nestholma and Tekes.
Those 10-15 seen with most
potential will be presented with
opportunity to participate.
What we are looking for and expect from startups
 Teams with at least two founders with both business
and tech understanding are preferred
 Scalable idea that has global potential
 Startups need to be able to work in Helsinki
 You are ready to validate your product with real
customers
 Startups need to be able to commit a lot of time
 By Demo Day, you should be able to demonstrate your
working product to potential investors.
 You have already established your company or will do
it before starting in the program

8. 6.-8.11.
As part of the Ultrahack, Nordea and
Nestholma will host a hackathon at Slush
Hacks weekend where you can show us that
you have the right stuff. The best companies in
the Nordea hackathon can get into the
accelerator program!
Even if you already have your spot in the
accelerator, the Ultrahack will be a great place
to get up to speed with Nordea, Nestholma
and the other great coaches, investors and
other at the hackathon.

All startups that are accepted into the
Nordea Startup Accelerator Program are
eligible for seed investment of 6-150k€
and more than 500k€ worth of deals
and discounts for products and services
that every startup needs (cloud hosting
and more) from Nestholma's partners
(Google and others).
Nestholma also does close cooperation
with Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for
Innovation) and helps the startups to
pursue relevant public funding
instruments.

9. In the heart of the program is 3 month
intensive period which starts from Startup
Day on 16.11. in Vallila Helsinki, Finland.
During the Startup Day the startups will
learn Nordea’s objectives and business
models.
Startups will pitch their idea and get a
match with a suitable mentor during the
day.
12 weeks intensive working in Nordea’s
premises (Vallila) with the support of personal
mentor, Nestholma’s specialists and external
advisors

10. Nordea Startup Accelerator –program will
culminate in Demo Day in February in
Helsinki.
In this event potential investors are able to
meet and network with the startups and
startups will pitch their innovations to the
audience.
After the Demo Day Nordea will be
interested in finding as much new
partnerships and cooperation with the
startups as possible.
During the program startups are eligible for
funding up to 100 000 € by Nestholma, but
have the opportunity to raise more equity
from additional investors.
