offers some of the country’s most outstanding
scenery. At Slea Head, Europe’s most westerly
point, a stop at the Blasket Island Heritage
Centre will give you a fascinating insight into the
unique community who inhabited the islands

Killarney for an hour-long ride through the
National Park in a horse-drawn Jaunting car
(the only transport allowed in this area), before
boarding MV Pride of the Lakes for a cruise on
beautiful Lough Leane. There’s no better way
to enjoy the hidden delights of the Park and
the famous Killarney Lakes.
A visit to historic Bunratty Castle and Folk Park,

complete and authentic medieval fortification in
Ireland, has been carefully restored to its former
splendour, and Irish village life at the turn of the
century has been recreated in the Folk Park
adjoining the castle. A visit to Adare, one of
Ireland’s loveliest villages, completes the day.

Join us in the heart of the Highlands and enjoy Scotland’s stunning scenery and

Carrbridge Hotel – Carrbridge
Dating back to 1803, this family owned and managed hotel, situated
in the small Highland village of Carrbridge, was once an inn for weary
travellers. It has been extended and refurbished over the years and
now has over 100 en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, bar and restaurant.
Your holiday begins with a flight to Edinburgh,
where you will be met by our Tour Manager
- someone with a love of the Highlands who
will help you make the most of your holiday.
Stopping en route in Pitlochry, the journey to
your hotel takes about three hours.
The following morning it’s over the mountains
via Britain’s highest village Tomintoul, to visit
Balmoral. A short audio visual presentation
sets the scene, while hand-held audio guides
(included in the entrance price) bring the
famous Royal retreat to life. The gardens
and exhibitions can be enjoyed at leisure,
and the Ballroom (the only room open to the
public) houses a fine collection of silver, china
and paintings. During the day you’ll also visit
famous Crathie Church and the delightful
‘Highland Games’ town of Braemar.
Loch Ness beckons the following day.
Travelling via Spean Bridge with its Commando
Monument, and Fort Augustus, you’ll travel

the Loch Ness 2000 exhibition. The day ends
with a visit to the thriving city of Inverness.
Visits to delightful Grantown-on-Spey and
ancient Cawdor Castle (entrance payable

has been carefully planned to give you a feel
of all that the main island has to offer, including
the outstanding Norse settlement of Jarlshof,
Scalloway Castle and Museum and time in the
enchanting old town of Lerwick.

fertile than Shetland and its peoples have
traditionally been farmers as opposed to
seafarers. Highlights of your time in Orkney

Stenness, as well as the more recent Churchill
Barriers and remarkable Italian Chapel, both
stark reminders of the part played by Orkney
in the Second World War.

Carrbridge Hotel – Carrbridge
Situated in the small, age-old Highland village of Carrbridge in
Speyside about six miles north of Aviemore, the family owned and
managed Carrbridge Hotel dates back to 1803. It now boasts over
100 bedrooms offering private facilities, colour television and tea- and
coffee-making facilities.
3★ Cabarfeidh Hotel – Stornoway
Set in eight acres of grounds on the outskirts of Stornoway, the
Cabarfeidh (pronounced cab-ar-fay) is an excellent three-star hotel
offering spacious, comfortable accommodation with private facilities.
A warm Hebridean welcome is guaranteed.
3★ Dunollie Hotel* – Broadford, Isle of Skye
The modern three-star Dunollie Hotel is situated at the water’s
edge by the harbour wall in Broadford and offers magnificent
views across the sea. All rooms have private facilities.
On arrival at Edinburgh Airport, it’s a long, but
hugely scenic drive to the Isle of Skye, your
base for the first two nights.
Here you’ll visit the main town of Portree and
magnificent Dunvegan Castle, spectacularly
sited on a promontory overlooking the sea.
Many of the castle’s public rooms are open
and the formal gardens are a hidden oasis
amid the barren Skye landscape.
The Isles of Lewis and Harris are guardians of
a rich culture with roots in the mists of time.
Although basically one land mass, the islands
have always had their own distinct identities
and unique physical characteristics, and
during your stay you’ll explore both, having
the chance to enjoy the varied scenery as well
as visiting some of the main historical and
archaeological sites.
Highlights include two reminders of the
islands’ ancient past, the spectacular standing
stones of Callanish and the imposing Broch
of Carloway, and a visit to the preserved and
reconstructed ‘Black House’ at Arnol.
The drive from Ullapool across the north west
Highlands to Carrbridge for the final night is
yet another scenic delight.
From the ocean-washed sands of vast empty beaches, to mountains and moorlands
rich in flora and fauna, the Hebrides (or Western Isles as they are sometimes known) are
unspoilt, uncrowded and timeless. With stunning scenery, an ancient history and a unique
culture – these islands offer visitors a never-to-be-forgotten experience.

The sun-blessed shores and clear blue waters of Lake Garda are backed by
towering mountains to the north, and citrus and olive groves and vine-covered
slopes to the south and west, completing a picture-postcard-perfect scene.
Elegant and stylish resorts line the shores of
the lake, whilst steamers ply their trade across
the waters. Sailboats and windsurfers hint at
more energetic pursuits, whilst ashore, rest
and relaxation are very much the order of
the day. With opportunities to take a Grand
Circular tour of the lake, visit Italy’s most
evocative city, Venice, to enjoy Verona and
to be awestruck by the dramatic Dolomites,
it’s no wonder that Lake Garda is our most
popular holiday destination in Europe.
We offer a choice of wonderful resorts all
located on the lake shore. Café life, delicious
ice cream from a host of gelaterie, plentiful
shopping for handicrafts and souvenirs,
or just a seat in the sun, are all happy pre-
occupations, although there are always more
energetic activities to be enjoyed.
Limone: Colourful and bustling on the lake’s
western shore, Limone is named for the citrus
groves that dot the surrounding hillsides, and
is every inch the perfect holiday resort.
Riva del Garda: At the lake’s northwest tip,
Riva is the most celebrated of all the resorts,
with its elegant, pastel-painted houses, palm-
lined promenades and historic centre.

Sorrento, famously ‘built between the sea
and the sky’, exudes Southern Italian charm
from every pore. On the shore, two tiny ports
are backed by small beaches and several
boardwalks, while on the water, craft of all
shapes and sizes add to the colourful scene.
The backdrop is breathtaking, with the Bay
of Naples stretching round to the distant,
towering triangle summit of Vesuvius.
The town’s beating heart is the Piazza Tasso,
pedestrianised in the evenings when the
surrounding bars and cafés are perfect for
watching the nightly passeggiata. Join in this
ritual ‘stroll’ down stylish Corso Italia, or into
the maze of narrow alleyways crammed with
shops, bars and restaurants. Everywhere you’ll
find lemon and orange trees, the fruit of the
former celebrated in everything from ceramics
and linen-ware to limoncello, the delicious
local liqueur.
Sant’ Agata del due Golfi, just six miles by bus
from Sorrento, is so called for the stunning
views it enjoys of both the Bay of Naples and
the Bay of Salerno, and offers a small selection
of shops, bars and restaurants. Sant’ Agata
has long been a favourite with our guests,
especially those who like to leave the bustle of
Sorrento behind.
Why not take your next holiday in one of Europe’s most spectacular destinations?
Choose from a selection of great hotels in the Sorrento area, or neighbouring Sant’ Agata,
