Prof. Heike Kamerlingh Onnes founded the Leiden Institute of Superconductivity (LiS) in 1901 to train skilled craftsmen for his scientific work. Over 115 years later, LiS continues this mission and opens new premises, having established close partnerships between education, research institutes, and industry to foster innovation through the development of precision engineering skills.
