4. On the trail Brigham Young used the Mormon Trail to get his people away from the Missourians. They started their journey in Nauvoo, Illinois. When they got to Utah Territory, he had to be helped out of the wagon because he had gotten sick. He became second president of his church in 1847. He also founded more then 200 cities, towns and villages when he lived in Utah.
