more culturally diverse!
 Teachers need to be aware that what they do
and say can greatly impact a child and their
family.
 The following tips can help you create an
atmosphere of learning and cultural respect.
Become familiar with the cultures of the students
that you teach.
Take an interest in learning the native language of
your students.
Communicate with parents and invite them to
school.
Encourage them to use and respect their home
language.
Create assignments that include culture and
language.
Read aloud stories that focus on other cultures
and points of view.
Share your culture with students.
The contents of this presentation were gathered
from years of teaching experience and
numerous workshops and courses focused on
teaching diverse learners. I take no credit for
