Alexandra relocated into existing refurbished offices. Heaton’s were Case Study
approached by Alexandra who were looking for a partner to help them with
all aspects of their project.
Alexandra’s brief was to create an office with wow factor which was
consistent with their brand values. We have had a hugely intensive three
months in which we visited the site and met with all of the firm’s
departments. We even took the client to Italy so that they could visualise
how their office would look.
“We were delighted to work with the Alexandra from start to finish, advising
them on interior design, space planning and furniture solutions.” Heatons’
director of furniture Nicola Humphray project managed the brief which
included sourcing some of the most modern and stylish desks, seating,
storage and conference room facilities from the UK and Europe.
The new look office will meet the needs of Alexandra’s 200 + strong
workforce across more than 20,000sq ft over two floors.

"From initial conversations it was clear that Nicola Humphray was willing
and able to give me a mixture of the support which I needed, that of
furniture solutions, interior space management and workspace
environment design.
Our relatively limited space and largely open plan office design meant
that we had to spend a lot of time planning the office layout, and Nicola
provided unlimited time and suggestions. Our budget size meant that we
needed to provide a cost effective solution which would still give us the
wow factor we wanted from furniture and enough storage to provide for
all our staff, Heatons enabled us to provide both within our budget.
Nicola provided guidance and product suggestions to enable us to build
in special features which lifted the communal areas. When it came to the
project rollout the installation team were very well organised, efficient,

6. Hugh Baird H.E. Heatons were asked to provide an interior design scheme for a newly
Suite Case Study refurbished H.E Suite within the Ballioll Centre.
What Heatons say...
Heatons were proud to be asked once again to come up with a scheme for
Hugh Bairds newly refurbished H E Suite.
The brief was to put forward an interior design scheme that was modern
and contemporary with funky seating and with a wow factor.
Once we had provided detailed plans, we then put forward a mood board
with proposed colour schemes and product selection to coincide with the
brief.
We were over the moon to be awarded with the order.
What Hugh Baird say...
It was very important for the College to provide our Higher Education
students with a facility that was not only high quality but distinctive from
the rest of the College and to give our HE students their own area with
its own identity.
Heatons were able to work with the College on this project because they
have worked alongside the College on other projects and understand our
commitment to constant improvements, usually with very tight timescales.
The HE suite has been a massive hit with our HE students and has proved
to be very popular area for staff to engage with them on a less formal
basis.
An important additional benefit from this area is that it has created an
interest from other students and is therefore becoming part of their
aspiration for progression to HE courses within the College.

7. Hugh Baird College
Heatons have been partners with the college for a number of years

and have worked on various projects including student and staff
facilities along with the refurbishment of their reception area.

We have provided solutions for many aspects of the college which include
student and staff use over their three sites in Bootle, Liverpool. We were
responsible for the design and supply of furniture for their refurbished
reception area which has been well received by both students and staff alike.

Now students have settled down and the students have returned for a
new academic year I thought it was appropriate to reflect on the summer
works programme we completed this year.
One of the major projects we completed was the refurbishment of the
Balliol Centre reception area. This was completed on time and within the
budget allocated.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your major contribution
to this project. As you know we had a very short window of opportunity
to complete the work and your endeavours in recommending and
securing the quality of furniture you did was vital to the success of the
project.
I can also report that the refurbishment has had a major positive impact
on both staff and students, indeed many visitors to the college have also
passed very favourable comments, about, “how impressive the reception
area is for a college”. It has brought the reception area to life with
students now using it as a meeting and social space.

8. Scientiam Heatons worked with Scientiam on their new training facility at
Liverpool One. This was to be their flagship facility. The scheme was to

Heatons were approached by Scientiam as we had successfully worked with
them before on a previous project. This time they were opening a new
flagship training facility in the heart of Liverpool One.
Scientiam’s brief was to create an office with wow factor and one that was
consistent with both Scientiam and Liverpool One’s brand values. We visited
the site to survey and measure up so as we could provide scaled drawings
to show how their facility could work for them and how to maximise the
available space.
We were responsible for the design and planning of the open plan space
which was to be partitioned off using a contemporary frameless glass
partitioning system so as to create an airy and light environment.
We then provided interior design mood boards to help the client see our
vision of how the office and training space would look.

10. Thornton College is a newly opened facility in partnership with Hugh Thornton College
Baird College and Sefton Council. Heatons where asked to come up with Case Study
a scheme for the furniture within the college.
What Heatons say...
We were delighted to be asked by Hugh Baird College to come up with a
range of furniture solutions for the new groundbreaking college which is to
act as a springboard between special schools and further education.
The centre, which was given the green light by council planners, was hailed
by the borough’s education chiefs as the first of its kind in Merseyside.
Heatons put together a portfolio of products including classroom furniture
which included height adjustable desking for wheelchair users, seating,
reception furniture, bistro cafeteria furniture and I.T desking and seating.
Heatons are also proud to sponsor the colleges sensory room which is a
place where children and adults with special needs can explore and
develop their senses and skills.
What Thornton College say...
We were very pleased with the proposals Heatons put forward for this
project and their commitment to understand our requirements and also
meet our deadlines.
The quality of the furniture was only surpassed by their design proposals
which were thorough and easy to follow. Whilst the furniture is robust it
does not have an institutional feel which is very important for the nature
of this unique facility.
The students and their parents feel at home in this facility which is already
attracting intense interest not only from within Sefton but further afield.
In addition, Heatons delivery and instillation team were very efficient and
the service they provided was excellent. They never promise anything
they can’t deliver.

11. Venmore Venmores relocated into new premises. Heatons were responsible for
supplying contemporary furniture that represented their brand values.

What Heatons say...
Heatons were pleased to be approached by Venmores having successfully worked
with them previously on other projects. Venmores were relocating into new premises
in Liverpool city centre.
We were asked to come up with a design scheme that was functional for both staff
and visitors. Also on the wish list was that they wanted the open plan space to have
a modern and contemporary feel coupled with a reception and waiting area that
offered style and class for their visiting clients. Heatons were responsible for all of
the furniture including desking and storage, task and visitor seating, reception
counter and waiting chairs plus the boardroom.
We also helped with the interior design by putting forward carpet selections and
fabric choices.
What Venmore say...
Venmores is Liverpool’s oldest estate agency business, being in existence for over
160 years, unfortunately the office furnishings were looking as if they had been
around for most of that period.
The business is based upon a really strong City Centre Property Management and
Property Auction business originally based in Stanley Street. We took the decision
that we required a more visible and accessible building and wanted to provide a
better environment for our customers and staff, we took the brave decision to move
and took a lease on a building in the best city centre location for a property
business.
We signed a lease on an old bank that needed completely refurbishing on a very
tight time frame with the project plan for the build running parallel with the plan for
the furniture. Creating the right environment was something we had strong views
upon, we needed to work with a supplier who was happy to invest time in
understanding our business and turning our conceptual ideas into a practical
great looking environment.
Heaton’s provided a number of options that reflected our requirements and were
attentive to detail and changes as our building plans evolved. The project was on
time and on budget and the office has been a great success.

12. Heatons worked in partnership with Venture to provide a new office for Venture Housing
them over three floors in their newly built head office.. Case Study

Heatons were approached by Venture as they were having new purpose built
offices in Liverpool.
Heatons provided detailed scaled plans for all three floors of the building
and completed a workplace analysis study to ensure that all departments
had the correct type and amount of storage and workspace.
The result was a modern and contemporary office environment that fitted
in with Venture’s brand and core values.

What Venture Housing say...
Venture Housing Association built new offices in Liverpool and employed
Heatons furniture division to outfit the relevant office areas.
Nicola Humphray and her team carried out a detailed process of design
and solution analysis to the associations particular requirements and
then supplied and fitted the appropriate furniture items.
All of the above went without a single hitch, which I believe is a
reflection of the attention to detail provided by the team at Heatons.
