Nigel is Professor of Tourism & Events Marketing at Surrey’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and member of The Best Place – European Place Marketing Institute. He is an energetic advocate for sustainable and inclusive place development and marketing and a widely published academic with 19 books, including Destination Branding: Managing Place Reputation. He co-chairs the Critical Tourism Studies Conference Series, is an editorial board member of leading journals and an Associate Editor of the Annals of Tourism Research. He is Adjunct Professor at Tromso University, where he is part of a £1.7m research project.
