This chapter presents a broad framework of communication and details the marketing
communication and tourism promotion as part of this larger frame. Promotion mix and its all
elements are covered in detail. The discussion on process of development of promotion plan
and different promotional tools acquaints the reader with the different dimensions of
promotion. Specific promotion tools like brochures, events, movies and cinema are particularly
used in tourism. For answering the questions keep in mind the basic goal of promotion as
communication.
