The Cancer Genome Atlas Project aims to identify genomic changes that cause cancer through a pilot project analyzing 3 types of cancer. It involves multiple centers performing sequencing, analysis, and data coordination to characterize DNA, RNA, methylation and other molecular data types from biospecimens and make data accessible online.
