The Compensation Processing Tool is a compensation analysis and reporting system. This proprietary
system captures payroll and expense information from our client’s and vendor’s source systems,
including payroll, accounts payable, general ledger, etc for each of their locations around the globe.
The system accumulates the amounts and then compares those amounts to the taxability grids
maintained by Human Capital. The system creates multiple analytical reports for Ernst and Young
and the client to monitor, track and report global compensation for the expat programs.
Ernst & Young currently has 46 clients generating $15.4 million in annual revenue using the Excel or
existing web based tool, EY/GEMS. We are forecasting significant growth in the service offering with
forecasted revenue of $62 million by FY15. Many of these are small engagements and the Excel tool
works fine; however, the larger clients can be difficult to process. Hence, the business team initiated
the implementation of CPT that will enable reporting, importing, tracking of payment data from
different companies across the world.

The Electronic Personnel File system (EPF) currently stores all pertinent, legal, and regulatory
documents for US personnel below Partner/Principal ranks. Changes need to be made to the
system to give access to view and maintain partner documents (rank 11) to the Partnership
Operations group, which will be a new user group, and remove access to those documents from
other groups (HRSSC Records management). The partner documents will only include documents
prior to employee’s becoming a partner (these will be referred to as pre-partner documents in the
requirements documents). Also, rank 11 with jobcode 11013 will not be visible to Partnership
Operations, but will be visible to HRSSC. This is because those employees are International

Directors, so their data needs to be maintained by HRSSC. Rank 13 will be visible to HRSSC
Records management but not to Partnership Operations. For achieving this, the security model
needs to be modified to include additional criteria for rank and jobcode.

GEPM is an outsourced Performance Management solution being implemented by Taleo for E&Y. It
requires that E&Y provide to it data about employees, their goals, accomplishments, competency
assessments, completed courses, engagements, clients and utilization. End-users will use Taleo’s
EPM system for goals setting and their annual and semi-annual reviews. The results of the annual
review rating will be fed back to E&Y, along with other data that downstream systems need for
reporting purposes.
Data for GEPM is person-specific but must also include relevant reference data. It currently has five
sources systems (GHDRDB, GFIS, EY Leads, and People & Places), each of which must be
negotiated with to produce the specific data required from each system.
First phase is for getting employee related data from different Sources. This phase will complete on
30 Jun 2011 . After that second phase will start which will be a Web application on .Net 3.5 using
C#. Currently
SSIS 2008 is used for loading and transformation of data.
