Driving traffic to a blog can be quite a challenge – and an enormous one at that! After all the brainstorming that comes with shopping for a domain name (and maybe theme), to the headaches of hosting companies right up to the nagging headaches of trying to create unique content, the realization that you’ve had only 3 unique visitors for the whole effort may not at all be welcome!
Now, welcome to the world of blogging – a world where driving traffic to a blog is harder than creating, hosting and providing unique content for that blog!

2. 1. Driving traffic to a blog is a slow and methodological process:
most of the traffic driving techniques and efforts take time to reflect, be
patient.
3. Consistency is key. That means, even when no apparent results show,
your job is to continue.
4. Spamming other sites just to drive traffic to your site should be avoided.
The results are not worth the headache and efforts.
4. Write for both the search engines and your readers. The key is to know
how to define your content so that you don’t offend any.

3. -Everyone loves good and quality stuff. What makes you think your
content would be loved otherwise?
- In the race for ranking, length always wins. Writing some 300 word
post and expecting to be on the first page of any search engine is a joke!
-How to you react to pirated CD’s or books? Is your blog one? To drive
traffic to a blog, your content must be original!

5. - Thousands of questions are asked everyday on Yahoo!
- Most of these questions have a direct correlation to a blog post of yours.
Learn to answer them and link back.
- You could be smart a little by crafting posts based on already
asked questions, answering them and linking back.
- Be sure not to break Yahoo!’s community standards. Take time
and read Yahoo!’s policy carefully.

6. Guest Blogging may be considered old school – but it sure works as
hell. Below are the benefits:
- You have the unique opportunity to influence an already
established community of readers who may want what you’re
offering.
- Backlinks can easily be got by guest posting. In essence,
consider every article sent out as a guest post as a backlink planted
that will germinate in due course.
- Listen! If you have to guest post, send your articles to high PR
blogs with a good Alexa rank, ok? Otherwise, assume you’re
sowing the seed on concrete!

7. Article submission sites can drive tons of targeted traffic to a blog
very fast. Why?
- Almost all the article submission sites have a good Alexa rank and
high Google PR. That means that articles published on such sites
reaches the world immediately you hit the publish button.
- As in guest posting, backlinks can be developed via article
submission sites.
- Because of their (usually) high PR and Alexa rank, exposure is
increased. In the long run, this exposure proves to be superior to even
guest blogging!
-Great examples include Helium.com and Ehow.com.

10. You perhaps never knew that bloggers watch their sites like hawks….
Commenting on other blogs gets you noticed easily by your host(s).
There are some tricks though:
- Never spam any blog. Great chances are that your comment will
be deleted and no single visit will thereby result.
- The definitive advice of getting others to visit your site by
commenting on other sites is by offering a comment either clarifying a
post made or challenging it with better (and subtle) arguments.
- For maximum effect, use CommentLuv enabled blogs. They offer
traffic and backlinks with a single stroke!

12. Man is a social animal…that was not quite true until Facebook, Twitter and
its friends arrived….
- All the basic social networks have a ‘reshare’ button that may be called by
another nomenclature. Such buttons makes your content go viral – as the
reshares are basically unlimited.
- Your blog ranks higher on search engines when your content is shared
across profiles. The act tells search engine that: ‘Hey! This guy’s good’.
- Why would be so anti social as not to share?
