2. The Five Most Important IM Policies

Game time is forfeit time – please ensure you have enough rostered
players present prior to the start of your scheduled contest.
Only a team’s captain may confer with the officials.
All players must present their valid Northeastern University issued
Husky Card in order to play.
All roster management is done via the IMLeagues platform.
After the season’s schedule is published, regular season games will
not be rescheduled at a team’s request.

All games are played on Haas Pavillion Gym Floor Must have valid
Northeastern ID to participate
Games will consist of two 15-minute halves
4 players may be on the field at a time
Goalie is tbd
A minimum of 4 players must be present to avoid a forfeit
5. Substitutions

Teams may substitute players on out of bounds, timeouts, after goals
and any time the substituting team’s goalie has possession
Players must remain in their designated areas until an official indicates
they may enter play
Each team may call one timeout per half
With less than one minutes remaining in the game no substitutions or
timeouts will be permitted
Failure to comply with the above substitution rules will result in a yellow
card for the offending team’s captain
6. Goalkeepers

Goal keepers may use their hands inside the designated goalie area
Keepers must roll the ball out underhand or play it as a field player
Keepers may not
Dropkick or punt the ball
Cross the first white line
Score
Teams must have a goalkeeper at all times
Keepers may not be pulled and replaced with a field player

8. Out of Bounds

court lines it is out of bounds.
All out of bounds on the
side will result in an
indirect kick from the spot
The basketball hoop,
overhead track and white
netting is all in bounds
All kick-ins are indirect
9. Sliding

There is absolutely no sliding permitted
All slides result in an automatic yellow card
Sliding into a player is a red card
After a slide, the ball is put back into play with a direct free kick
Goal Keepers may only come out hands first or to the side
10. Yellow Cards

A player receiving a yellow card receives a minimum two-minute
penalty, with no replacement
If a goal is scored against his or her team, the player may re-enter the
game
Yellow card fouls include:
Sliding
Entering or leaving the field without the official’s permission
Objecting to the decision of an official either vocally or through
actions
Delay of game (refusing to yield 3 yards on a free kick)
Holding a jersey or shorts
Deliberate handball to stop an attack
Deliberate tactical foul
Unsportsmanlike conduct
11. Red Cards

Red cards carry an automatic ejection from the game and the facility
Teams must play short a player for the rest of the match
Red card fouls include:
Taunting
A second yellow card
Exhibiting violent conduct
Spitting at another person
Using insulting, offensive or abusive language
Leaving the bench area to enter the field during an altercation
12. Encroachment

All defensive players must yield three yards on all free kicks
Failure to do so will result in an encroachment penalty
Encroachment is punishable by yellow card
13. Cumulative Fouls

Every foul is recorded and counted toward a cumulative foul count
Advantage calls are also counted toward this number
When a team has committed 6 fouls the other team is awarded a direct
free kick from the designated mark for every subsequent foul
All other players must stand behind this mark and three yards
from the ball
The cumulative foul count resets at each half
The count will carry over to any overtime periods
14. Additional Rules

The game will end on the first dead ball after regulation time has
expired
After any dead ball situation, the team in control of the ball has five
seconds to put it into play
Advantage will be used when calling fouls, so not to take away a
favorable situation from the team that did not foul
