3. Present Continuous Tense
merupakan kalimat yang digunakan
untuk menjelaskan aktivitas/
kegiatan/ peristiwa yang sedang
terjadi atau suatu proses dari
kegiatan tertentu saat ini.

4. I am writing letter now.
He is crying.
The cat is sleeping.

5. Pattern of Present Continuous
Tense:
(+) S + be + Verb (+ing) + Object . . .
(- ) S + be + not + Verb (+ing) + Object . . .
(?) Be + S + Verb (+ing) + Object . . .?

6. Example:
(+) I am studying English now.
(- ) I am not studying English now.
(?) Are you studying English now?
Yes, I am/ No, I am not.
(Wh) Where are you studying English now?
I am studying English in the class.

7. Note:
1. Kata kerja yang bersifat cepat tidak dapat di bentuk
“sedang/ continuous”, api dibentuk menjadi
“lampau/ simple past tense”
Example:
Crash (Tabrakan)
Die (Mati)
Slip (Tergelincir)
Fall (Jatuh) – Sonya is falling in hole now. (x)
Sonya fell in hole. (v)

8. 2. Kata kerja yang bersifat lama tidak dapat di bentuk
“sedang/ continuous”, tapi dibentuk menjadi
“kebiasaan/ simple present tense”
Example:
Love (Cinta) – Tiyan is loving her friends. (x)
Tiyan loves her friends. (v)
Hate (Benci)
