select one student from each of the 15
states targeted and served by the White
House Young America Series to participate
in the White House Young America Series
Outcomes and Results presentation.
• To meaningfully engage and interact with
officials from the Obama Administration
and share local tools and community
solutions that can be replicated nationally.
8. 2012 International Summit
• Congratulations to Adrian McLemore for
being selected as one of 30 delegates for the
2012 International Summit of Youth in Care
World Congress.
• During this event, 30 emerging leaders from
across the globe met to discuss foster care
practices and policies, and make
international proposals and
recommendations.
15. October 18th YAB meeting
• Between now and October, please send details
regarding local initiatives that you/your YAB have been
involved in….
• These insights will be compiled into a Toolkit for
Current and Future Youth Advisory Boards.
• During our October meeting, youth representatives will
come prepared to share the how-to of different
activities from their county.
• The goal is for each board to leave with a notebook of
ideas from one another bring back to their county and
consider trying as part of their YAB.
