More than Just Lines on a Map: Best Practices for U.S Bike Routes
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real music magazines?
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real music magazines?
My magazine front
cover includes a
masthead
I have also
added a
slogan for
my magazine
I have got sell lines
My front
cover also
consists of a
barcode
I have a issue number

Most pages will have a colour palette – a defined choice of
colours to noticeable house-style/image.
2. My media product challenges forms and conventions of
real music magazines by the use of mast heads, bar
codes, layout, the front cover/contents and double page
spread pictures. I have also got an issue number.
These all make a magazine as without a magazine will
not be a magazine. People will disown your magazine
and not one distributor will like to distribute your
magazine.
There, my magazine reflects on real music magazine by
the use of the forms and conventions which help make
up a magazine.
3. My mast head
The mast head usually at the top of the page. This logo will also create the
‘brand image’ of the magazine and will make it immediately noticeable for the
magazines audience.
As you can see above, its an image of my mast head. This shows how I have
used conventions of magazine. All magazine are obliged to have mast heads as
this makes up a magazine.
4. Sell lines
These are the sell line I have
decided to use.
I believe these lines will attract my
target audience because the sell
lines are eye-catching, they seem
like interesting stories that my
target audience will love to read
such as ‘romance’ and ‘future’
plans of one of their favourite
artists.
Also, the ‘exclusive interview’ is
very eye-catching along side the
red background colour I have
chosen to use.
5. Slogan
Majorities of magazines use a slogan. A slogan is used under the
header to explain the magazine content or to make it stand out
from its rivals.
A slogan for my music magazine is very important, I believe its
one of the features that my audience will remember of my
magazine.
Its straight forward and I have shortened the word ‘magazine’ to
just ‘mag’ to make my magazine slogan seem unique and it’s a
flattery strategy that I have used in order to attract my target
audience.
6. Barcode
I have placed a barcode on my music magazine as this is one of the things
shops will need in order for them to scan my product.
I have used and developed real music magazine conventions as below I
have compared a real music magazine to my magazine to show I have
used and developed conventions of real music magazines.
7. Price and Issue number
As you can see for my magazine, I have put the price and
the issue number. All magazines should have a price on their
magazine front cover as this lets the buyer know how much
the magazine will cost. This also shows the use of real
music magazine in your magazine.
8. Date and webiste
I also have added a date on my contents page as this challenges
forms and conventions of real music magazines.
A twitter account and a website included on my contents page.
9. House-style/image
As you can see the colour red really stands out in magazine. This is use of conventions of real
magazines.
I have used the colour red because I believe that you can many things with the colour red.
This is called house-style. It is important that my magazine has a colour pallet in order to
attract my target audiences especially because my target audience are young. It will
be nice for them to spot a bright magazine in the shop, and I believe the colour magazine will
defiantly attract my target audiences as it’s a funky colour and it is not boring.
10. I have been inspired by the Q
magazine.
They have this house-style
/image by using the colour red at
all times.
It really makes a magazine
remember able.
