An architecture portfolio is one of the most important tools an architect and/or architecture student should possess. Presented through the careful selection of drawings, images, text and photographs it represents a timeline and record of experience that demonstrates its creators architectural skills, methods and capabilities.
2. STYLE IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR
ATTITUDE AND YOUR PERSONALITY.
2
3. ACCORDING TO ME A PORTFOLIO WORKS BY :
IDENTIFYyour style
INFORMabout your background
INTRODUCEyour designs
3
3 I
OF YOUR ARCHITECTURE JOURNEY
5. LETS TALK ABOUT YOU.. IDENTIFY!
▸ What do you enjoy most, when you are assigned to
Design any building.
o Case Study Documentation
o Concept Development
o Making Plans with strict anthropometry
o Site designing
o Natural lights and greenery in your design
o Or you are the one with DSLR ?
5
Identification !
That’s not a rocket science !
6. THIS IS WHERE DESIGNING OF
THAT UNIQUE ELEMENT OF
PORTFOLIO MAKING BEGINS !
Present the readable version of
yourself !
6
7. THE FIRST STEP – INFORM THROUGH RESUME !
▸ Objective
▸ Abilities
▸ Achievements
▸ Covers your background !
▸ Choices of details matters
▸ Profile Image matters
7
8. ALL SET TO INTRODUCE THE MAIN
HERO/SHERO!
What would I think of the
architect, if they share the
following in their portfolio
8
11. SOMETIMES IT SHOULD GO WITH YOUR FUTURE PLANS !
Choose Projects that Work
with the Office's Profile!
Else, it make no sense to
highlight your interior sketches
to a urban planner team.
Or sharing working drawings
for interview at Landscape
Masters of Architecture.
11
12. LETS SPLIT YOUR PORTFOLIO INTO TWO PARTS !
Work on what they want to see
Work on what you want to show
12
UTILIZE ONLY YOUR RELATIVE DESIGN SKILLS
It is not compulsory to add photography , sketches, handmade models, non-relatable achievements
everywhere.
14. FINAL CHECKLIST..
One “ ABOUT ME” page
One page as “Visual summary of projects” in the beginning. i..e “The content page”
One work that represent either your or office work interest
One element that is made without the use of computer
One hand on training experience in hobby section ( not compulsory)
Only two font types throughout the portfolio
One achievement in design field . If it includes a group design project, mention credits of those
who supported you + highlight your contribution in the project.
Remember …
• Make a easy readable portfolio which highlight your design thinking and software skills.
• Don’t repeat similar projects and do not add more than 100 words on a page.
