Toronto Tourism Cluster Activities and Marketing Activities Tourism Toronto will partner with key players such as Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, the Canadian Tourism Commission and the City of Toronto Result: Tourism Toronto increasing marketing efforts with “high-impact campaigns” to attract tourism  Campaigns will include full-colour inserts in newspapers in more than 25 U.S. markets, which will reach over 7 million homes Toronto portrayed as creative and adventurous city
Toronto Tourism Cluster Activities and Marketing Activities Toronto will also host: The American Podiatric Medical Association annual meeting in 2009  The 2011 Ontario Veterinary Medical Association conference Toronto will host The Center for Association Leadership 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition One of the most “influential” meetings of senior executives from associations within the U.S. The three conventions will bring in  $26 million  for Toronto.
Toronto Tourism Cluster Niagara Falls Tourism Cluster Government will implement  $30 million  expansion plan of its tourism marketing campaigns to promote tourism throughout Canada, U.S. and overseas  McGuinty government will offer: $70,000  to the Ice Wine Classic $46,500  to promote the Niagara Ice Wine Festival. Government feels this plan will allow Ontario to gain larger share of tourism market
Toronto Tourism Cluster Thailand Tourism Cluster ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Increase in environmentally-friendly companies Six Senses Hideaway , a hotel company in Thailand, taken up “green initiative” Attracts hundreds of carbon-conscious travellers
Toronto Tourism Cluster Hawaii Tourism Cluster Two major competitors, ATA Airlines and Aloha Airlines, shutting down their operations Hawaii flight services may become a lot more expensive Both airlines filed for bankruptcy
Toronto Tourism Cluster Green Tourism-U.S. Tourism Cluster New Trend: Travellers participating in “volunteer vacationing.” People want a vacation where they can be active and “give back” to the environment, according to Travelocity.com Involves taking a trip to locations such as Africa or the Galapagos Islands and volunteering a day of your trip to helping the community
