FedEx, Dean Kamen
collaborate for same-day, last-
mile deliveries
FedEx in association with Manchester-based DEKA
Research & Development Corporation has officially
launched- Roxo, a battery-operated robot on August
6 in Manchester. Roxo, which means 'purple' in
Portuguese, is a nod to FedEx's purple branding.In
February 2019, Fedex announced Roxo as an
autonomous delivery device designed to help
retailers make same-day and last-mile deliveries to
their customers.Founder Dean Kamen, who has
championed robotics research at DEKA; Manchester
Mayor Joyce Craig; and Yeung attended the launch
of Roxo at the City Hall Plaza.

Rivigo launches Relay-as-a-
Service to revolutionise
trucking
Technology-enabled logistics company Rivigo
has launched Relay-as-a-Service (RaaS) that will
benefit fleet owners and truck pilots in India. The

OPEP conducted S01 E01 of Let’s Talk Ops on August 26th, 2019 at 7:30 pm on the topic
“Procurement to Pay (P2P)” on operations in manufacturing industry. Let’s talk OPS is a series of
knowledge-sharing sessions in the domain of Operations and Supply Chain.
The speaker was our very own Manoj Ram of PGP 18-20 Batch, who has a work-ex of 20+ months in
procurement at one of India’s leading glass manufacturing companies. He shared with us the
importance of suppliers in the whole process of P2P, along with a description of various steps
involved in the process, from submission of request, approval of acquisition up to the very last step
which is selection of goods and services. He also shed light on the Free Trade agreements of imports
and exports in the procurement process, the seller’s and buyer’s obligation using Incoterms, etc.
Lastly, we discussed upon logistics and its various aspects, the most trending being the third-party
logistics and the upcoming four-party logistics. The session concluded with an interaction with the
audience on related topics such as the complex process of payment in the procurement in the
