Contemporary Hit Radio for Havant
3. • We have chosen to do our target audience based
on these things because it is our sort of age range,
so we know the most about this.
• Radio 1 and Capital are inspiring us to create
something that out generation would enjoy listening
to.
4. • Capital listeners – 6.8 million a week
• Radio 1 – 35 million a week
• In just Havant alone, there are 116,849 people that
listen to radio 1 each day, out of these people,
137,467 are in between the ages of 15-29.
• BY finding out how many young people listen to radio
one in Havant, it has helped us see how many people
that could possible listen to our radio station.
• The main target audience group for radio
broadcasting are 15-29, 25-39, and 4-50 and anything
over that is classed as classical listeners, but this does
not apply to everyone.
5. PLAYLIST
• We have chosen artists that are in the charts right
now because we think that younger people would
like to listen to the newer music of their time instead
of old music.
• The genre is dance music:
• Celebration – The Game
• Dance (A$$) – Big Sean
• Fine China – Chris Brown
6. COMPETITION
• Capital is the main competition for our radio show
because they play similar music to our radio show
and they are more well known than us. They will get
more publicity that us and they are able to get
more celebrities in, therefore they are strong
competition.
7. COMPETITION
• Radio 1 would also be strong competition because
they are one of the biggest radio shows in the UK,
so they are very well know and they will have more
publicity from the other shows from BBC. This will
include advertising from television as well as radio.
8. SPEECH CONTENT
• We spoke about variety of topics including
Rihanna’s new clothing line with River Island being
in competition with the Kardasian’s clothing line.
• We spoke about our weekends.
