state consists essentially in the
depravation of sanctifying grace.

Baptism’s sensible sign of washing
with water symbolizes and effects a
cleansing from all sin and rebirth to
new life in the spirit. It is the Holy
Spirit that frees us from sin.

the other members of Christ’s Body-the
Church.

The anointing with Chrism signifies
the baptized sharing the threefold
mission of Christ: prophetic,
priestly, and kingly, which Jesus
performed in His life and teaching.

All- Holy One
- The Spirit of Love, enables His followers to
love as He loves

- The Spirit of Forgiveness, who brings eternal
salvation to the repentant
