Some Common Activities Expected From A Certified Nursing Assistant While Working
1. If you are planning to start a career in the medical
sciences, you will find the doors of many careers open to
you. With the proper training, you can always be
employed as a nurse or a doctor. If you even have more
specialized training, you may even get a job as a specialist.
Moreover, with a quick training, you may get a job as a
CNA in any of the health care facilities in and around your
neighborhood.
2. However, to land this job you will need to meet up with
some requirements concerning the training. In
essence, you must have taken classes for the required
number of hours. You will also need to meet the training
requirements for your clinical training for you to have
hands on experience. In addition, all applicants will need
to pass an examination before they can be certified.

they would be fulfilled at their job. This is because you
choose a career that helps you to help others; you will
know that you are contribution towards the greater good.

groups. The first group is concerned with taking good care
of patients. The second group is concerned about

patients and doctors. The last group is concerned with you
ensuring that the patients are comfortable.
6. For you to be able to take good care of your patients, you
will be required to help them as to perform their daily
activities. For instance, you may need to help them
shave, brush their teeth, and to take their baths among
others. You may also need to provide mobility support to
the frail patients as well as the physically challenged
patients as they move from one room to another.
7. To provide adequate communication, you will need to be
very perceptive so that you can observe and anticipate the
needs of the patients. You will also be required to collect
any sample that needs to be sent off to the laboratory for
tests. More importantly, you will need to make regular
reports to the presiding medical officer if you notice any
improvement, stability or worsening in their health.
8. Above all as a CNA, it is necessary that you be a sight of
comfort to the patients. What makes you a great caregiver
is to arrive at work each day so with a smile for everyone
such that patients would be glad to see you. It also helps
to have a listening ear so that patients can feel
comfortable talking to you.
