2. HOW I MADE MY MAGAZINE
The first thing I did was take an number of pictures that depicted the events
I would be focusing on in the magazine. I then cropped and edited the
pictures in order to form a background for my cover.
I then chose a background, colour title and some stories that I thought
were appropriate to a school magazine. I included a puff to make my
magazine seem prestigious and highly rated. I included interviews to
make the magazine seem both cultured and intellectual.

3. HOW I MADE THE CONTENTS PAGE
Whilst making my contents page I ensured I used the same background colour and
went with the same theme for the contents of my magazine to improve its
consistency. I made sure to include details such as the issue of the magazine, the
date and the page numbers of each of the stories. I then used the magic eraser to
give the coloured boxes behind my text boxes a more satisfying look. I ensured I
included two relevant pictures with appropriate pieces of text alongside them.

4. CONVENTIONALITY
In order to make my magazine appear both professional
and give the impression that it is a critically acclaimed
piece of media I used the ‘puff’ “the essential school
magazine” on the front cover. I included several ‘plugs’
about the stories in the magazine give the cover more
attractive to potential buyers.
In the contents page I included conventions such as the
issue number of the magazine and several relevant
pictures.

5. PHOTOSHOP TOOLS I USED
Whilst making my magazine cover and contents page I used a variety of
tools-
• I used the move tool to move and place my pictures, text boxes and
boxes.
• I also used the rectangle tool to put a solid background behind the text
boxes
• To edit my pictures I used the magic wand tool to crop them.

6. IMPROVEMENTS I WOULD MAKE
If I was to do this magazine again I would make my magazine look more
slick by using tools to make the pictures seem like they were not simply
‘inserted’ onto the page. I would also make the background of the front
cover look more full, I would add either a pattern or an actual picture as
the base background of the front cover.
